Thoth alignment

Using my Thoth deck, I wanted to look at influences impacting my alignment for the next few days. The 4 of Swords, an Air card, sits in the middle of the spread as significator. It can also represent the beginning point of the energy’s flow. Along the vertical or nonphysical axis, The Hierophant is at the top with the 9 of Cups (Water) at the bottom. A second Trump card, Fortune (Wheel of Fortune in other decks) begins the horizontal or physical axis, ending with the 2 of Disks, an Earth card. The suit of Wands is not present.

Trump cards represent archetypal energy and may indicate various spiritual qualities we should remember we have. A Trump card beginning each axis suggests that my true reality as an extension of Source Energy is exerting a dominant influence at this time. An interesting numerological aspect occurs in the spread as well. The two Trump cards add up to 15, reducing to 6. The three cards from the Minor Arcana do the same. Added together and reduced, the numerological value of the spread becomes 3, the Trinity.

Initially, I’ll consider the spread from the perspective of the 4 of Swords as significator and end with the card as the beginning point of the energy’s flow. However, I’m going to look at the 4 of Swords at the end. I want to see how or if it balances both physical and nonphysical influences.

Beginning with the nonphysical axis, the Hierophant represents divine wisdom and mastery of the three worlds of knowledge, tradition, and structure. It also represents our inner guidance and suggests the enlightened teacher within. The 9 of Cups suggests happiness and emotional fulfillment. Numerologically, the value of the nonphysical axis is 9, completion and initiation, a multiple of 3.

Fortune begins the physical axis indicating synchronicity, movement, and unexpected success. 3 is present as well with this card in that there are three creatures representing alchemical elements sulphur, salt, and mercury surrounding the Wheel. The 2 of Disks sits at the end of the physical influences axis, suggesting a balanced interplay between forces. The numerological value of the physical axis is 7, or the number of magick.

Each axis seems to support the energy for alignment. Energies of divine wisdom and emotional fulfillment blend with synchronicity and balanced interplay leading to unexpected success. Looking at the 4 of Swords, we have an Air card representing our intellectual presence. This card suggests retreat in an effort to heal one’s mind. It can also suggest going within to align before moving forward. The number 4 represents the physical plane or structure in numerology. This suggests a conscious decision to take a time out, to let plans gel a bit before beginning something new. The energies are clearly there for positive momentum. The 4 of Swords suggests that I look at all sides of whatever issues arise and then move forward from the perspective of Source vision, the end result of alignment.

Looking at the 4 of Swords as the beginning of the energy flow, the spread takes on a different feel. It’s clear that wonderful experiences flow from a calm, centered presence aligned with my Source within. I become the Hierophant, consciously creating a balanced interplay between forces which brings me happiness and fulfillment as I reap the rewards of my success.

I like that the numerological value of the spread is 3, representing Spirit and mastery. It’s the Trinity, representing manifested Divine Love in the form of Mother, Father, and Child. It also represents the Triple Goddess manifested in Her Maiden, Mother, and Crone aspects.

Spring has arrived on the High Desert. The energy is one of growth and new beginnings and this spread suggests positive days are ahead. My apricot tree is in full bloom waiting for the bees to begin their work. It’s going to be a lovely weekend!
