This is a section on cannabis growing and making medicine. I already have a section on cannabis medicine in the herb section, but I wanted to have a separate section just for cannabis. In the beginning of this blog, I wrote about cannabis more than I do now. But with legalization on the horizon for so many states now, at least medical cannabis if not recreational as well, and with my state legalizing fully (or so we thought), I wanted to share how my husband I grow cannabis for medical use.

Also, I’m going to talk about strains that I use as well as have a section on breeding. But at the end of the day, cannabis is cannabis. Indica is typically for pain and sleep and sativa is for daytime use. From there, it’s all about trying different strains to see what works and what doesn’t. Although cannabis strains share many constituents, each has it’s own individual nature, so it makes sense to try different strains to get the best one for your situation. Plus, after a point, it may be necessary to change to another strain so get to know what’s out there.

JerryMy husband, Jerry, is going to have a chance to add to the blog as well. A Jerry’s Corner perhaps. He’s been a cannabis grower for most of his life, taking a break for a while when the kids were home. When I first became ill, he was my grower and he grew some of the best cannabis I’ve ever seen. He grew awesome weed when we got married back in 1979, but his attention to detail has given me my life back. I couldn’t have done any of this without him, so it seemed right to ask him to participate.

Plus, we’re into permaculture gardening, hugelkulture in particular. I think he may be a Druid at heart what with his devotion to the land. Perhaps it’s something from his Akash, but he naturally gravitates toward such things. So I’m thrilled he’s going to participate. Besides, he brings his own perspective to the subject and that’s always amazing!

We’ll have sections on cloning, starting plants from seed, soils, nutrients, hydro versus dirt, indoor versus outdoor, harvest techniques, and anything else we can think of. We welcome questions and comments, growing cannabis is a lesson of love and of endless learning, so while we’ve discovered what works for us, there’s countless ways to approach cannabis growing. We’re happy to share what we know and welcome other methods as well.

Jerry and I have been married for forty years. We’ve raised two sons and now that we’re retired, our focus has changed to beekeeping, growing gardens and of course, growing cannabis. It’s been an interesting journey together and it’s not over yet! So check in now and then and see what’s up!

Blessings to all!
