Have We Had Enough Yet? ~ Tarot for 13/14 June 2017

Have We Had Enough Yet? ~ Tarot for 13/14 June 2017

Have we had enough of this crap yet? I drew some cards yesterday prior to the Sessions hearing but I didn’t get around to writing anything up until today, so I’ll interpret the reading as the influences surrounding that event. The overall numerology is 2 or balance, but given the reason for the hearing, it feels more like a decision between honesty and deception. Too much has happened and too many lies have been told and now it’s time for clarity, no matter what that is.

Beginning with the 4 of Pentacles, a balanced structure is represented assuring wealth and material gain. Our legacy of abundance and success is depicted by the lemniscate shapes joining each pentacle to the next, created by balanced effort. The negative side of the 4 of Pentacles arises when we hold on too tightly to our possessions or are unable to let go of what no longer serves.

The Empress is the only card from the Major Arcana that’s present in today’s reading. A beautiful card, the Wild Unknown Tarot depicts The Empress as a white tree with brilliant pink tips while a crescent moon rises in the night sky. The Empress represents the Goddess in her Mother aspect in all her elegance and grace, the essence of fertility and femininity. Both a receptive and creative presence, all life flows from the Great Mother.

Power and protection are depicted in the Mother of Wands by a snake coiled around her eggs, a crude stick ready to defend her brood. She alone stands ready to do whatever is necessary to protect her young with honor and integrity. She is determined and successful, adapting to situations as necessary to assure a successful outcome.

Three swords are bound by a red cord, blood dripping from their tips emerging from what appears like a black hole against a white background. The 3 of Swords often depicts a drama triangle or sorrow. This card, in the position of hidden influence, seems to suggest that we may be either bound by our own competing thoughts, or by the intentional distractions of others. Either way, clarity is available but somehow interfered with by self or others.

The 10 or Swords depicts ten black swords piercing and killing a bull. Ruin, betrayal, and the end of illusion are this card’s primary interpretations. We’ve gone as far as we can and a new approach is necessary. It’s the end of the road, and we’ve hit rock bottom.

Perfect love and perfect trust is an idea observed amongst witches. We perform rituals and spells that invoke perfect love and perfect trust as our foundation. With all the evidence that’s coming forward surrounding the truth of the last election, it’d be nice if we could all have that as our common goal. We need answers from the new guy and his minions, yet only dodges are forthcoming. They think they’re crafty, but as the rest of us watch and are affected by their continued deception, their time is coming to an end.

Mother of Wands is such a powerful card as it illustrates the power of women to guard our future. At least some of the senators interviewing Sessions sounded as fed up as the rest of us are with the endless dodging and weaving by people working in the current information who couldn’t answer a question in a straightforward manner to save their souls. Of course, the best one was Huckabee who believes the Attorney General is the President’s personal lawyer. He ran for President too. I guess these guys think they can write their own laws while they’re in office.

We evidently no longer share the same foundation in this country. The United States of America has become so divided that our future together is in doubt. The numerology of 2 not only indicates change but choice as well. We have a choice to make in this country to either come together and put an end to the deception surrounding our last election or we can continue as we are, at each others’ throats.

We must guard what we’ve built together and refuse to accept the continued deception by the new regime. The expressions of fealty from his cabinet the other day were sickening to watch. What’s wrong with these people? How could any of them choke out the words? This is not normal. This is not what happens in a democracy. We used to be able to depend on that, but now everything is upside down.

For whatever reason, the new guy is providing a catalyst for change. But the change he seeks will make us all the poorer while enrichening a few of his friends. They view him as someone they can use at the expense of the rest of us. We’ve gone as far as we can now. It’s time to put up or shut up and I’m not shutting up anytime soon.

What we’re experiencing is the last vestiges of patriarchy in all its ugliness and oppression. Mr. Sessions sat in his chair and refused to answer anything of substance, offering some sort of ridiculous notion that his boss might at some point claim executive privilege so he’s not saying a word and even giggled when Senator Kamala Harris was shut down during her questioning of him. Besides, to hear him tell it, how could anyone think he’d do anything treasonous to our country? Well, Mr. Sessions, you apparently lied during your confirmation hearing and now you want to blame Senator Franken for that lie. So while you think you’re a patriot, the jury is still out on that.

Blessed Be

Catalyzing Our Intention ~ Tarot for 13 Jan

Catalyzing our intention is the theme of today’s tarot reading. Three cards from the suit of Wands appear in progression in the reading, 6, 7, and 8 respectively. The numerology is 21 which reduces to 3, again catalytic in nature.

Looking at the cards, there’s balance and momentum, energy going in all directions. After an initial victory is achieved with the 6 of Wands, the wooden club in the middle of the 7 of Wands suggests that we stand in our power, followed by a rainbow appearing on the 8 of Wands suggesting a new day is dawning.

What comes through is that all is not lost and we have the resources and skills necessary to achieve our desired goals. The wands of the adept appear in a pattern on the 6 of Wands, flames rising from each crossing suggesting victory resulting from interaction with others. Any differences suggested by the three distinct wands are set aside fostering unity of purpose.

The same wands appear in a similar design in the 7 of Wands, but this time an additional club-like wand appears in front, apart from the others, making its own statement. Now that the battle has been won, either a leader has emerged or we’re asserting our own position on the situation. Valour is the title of this card, standing up for others and for a greater purpose.

The 8 of Wands has only jagged red rays emerging from the center of a crystal merkaba. A rainbow appears above. Swiftness is felt with energy moving in all directions. A sense of balance is also present as with the other two cards in the reading. A new approach is developing in tandem with the promise of a new day.

The swiftness of the rays suggests confidence with the middle rays indicating alignment. All angles have been considered and swift action is required, explosive yet balanced in our approach. We align with a higher truth and then act swiftly, with integrity, in synchronicity with others.

If today’s reading is any indication, we might take it as a positive sign that we have more power than we realize. We’ve proven time and again that with unified strength we are victorious. Our focus is on the greater good, a higher purpose our goal. While leaders may emerge, it’s our collective efforts that will bring our world back into alignment. We stand in our true power of Higher Self, of our collective consciousness, as we act with integrity and valor.

There are two days in 2017 which land on Friday the 13th, today and in October on my birthday. I was born on a Sunday, but I love it when my birthday is on a Friday the 13th. It was also on Friday, October 13, 1307 that King Philip IV of France, an uncle in my ancestry, arrested hundreds of Knights Templar, also uncles/cousins/grandfathers in my ancestry, for treason or heresy or some other contrived reason. They were wealthy, he wanted their treasure, so there you go.

No telling what shenanigans will happen between now and the next Friday the 13th, but if we’re to be victorious over any of it, we’ll need to come together in unified purpose. The Knights Templar saw what happened when a King decided they were no longer an asset, many burned at the stake at the hands of his arrogance, service to self more important than honor and truth.

The superstition surrounding the number 13, let alone falling on a Friday, is that it’s unlucky. I view it as a Master Witch number but then I have a certain bias that way. I prefer to use this day for setting intentions. So how about this one:

I set the intention of no distractions from a unified purpose, of alignment with self and others. I set the intention that no matter what the dark forces who have gained power manage to do, they will not derail me from the reality of oneness and unity with all. I will use my awareness, stand in my own power as well as with others, extending harmony and love to all.

Eventually the circus-like atmosphere will end, our one family our true pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

Blessings to all!

A Little Honesty Would Have Been Nice

Apparently the federal government is not yet ready to remove cannabis from the Federal Drug Register. NORML is reporting that the Feds aren’t going to reschedule cannabis after all. Never mind that a profit motive put it there, because it was never about truth. I guess they’re going to allow universities to “study” it now. As if that’s never happened in kitchens across this country, or in Israel and other countries around the world. Evidently Americans aren’t capable of using cannabis responsibly, whatever that means. At least not without years and years of “acceptable” research.

You’d think cannabis would be illegal because it’s dangerous and addictive. But all the hysteria surrounding cannabis’s so-called addictive nature was founded on a lie. Cannabis isn’t addictive, nor is it dangerous. It is, however, the source of healing for all sorts of people, myself included.

Cannabis is an effective treatment for autoimmune disorders (rheumatoid arthritis in my case), epilepsy, diabetes, pain, PTSD, cancer, and any number of other conditions that arise when our endocannabinoid systems have nothing to interact with. Our receptors need the cannabinoids found in cannabis so that our bodies can handle the stresses of daily life that all too often result in chronic illness. When the cannabinoid receptors are firing properly our bodies are healthy, when they’re not, illness results. So it would seem the issue is a simple one:

The government has lost its mind and still cannot find it.

It’s embarrassing, really, to think that we have some of the most intelligent people in the world working for our government yet the truth is still not important in the final analysis. Instead people are still arrested for a plant that heals. But then there’s no money in health, only chronic illness, because truth is irrelevant when profits are at stake. I mean, if we actually stopped locking people up for cannabis, we’d certainly see a reduction in the prison population, a job-killer for sure, so we can’t have that. What on earth would all those private prisons do without potheads taking up space?

CNN did an excellent three-part documentary series called Weed with Sanjay Gupta, but I guess a brain surgeon’s investigation isn’t enough to sway the DEA. Various states have legalized the recreational use of cannabis, my state included, and others have legalized medical cannabis use. I think half the country or better has done one or both. Every poll I hear about says that the majority of Americans believe cannabis should be legal, so how is it that the DEA can override respected scientists and the majority of citizens who want legal cannabis? They look like fools.

If alcohol and cigarettes are legal in this country, then cannabis should be as well. This notion of legalization with extensive restrictions isn’t legalization. It’s still control. Alcohol isn’t restricted, nor are cigarettes, and cannabis should be no different. If it’s legal, it’s legal. And in the case of cannabis, it’s safe to use unlike alcohol and cigarettes.

Aren’t we tired of crap that makes no sense? I sure am. And I’m pretty certain that everyone sitting in a jail cell for cannabis is as well. All the lives ruined by unnecessary prosecution and prison sentences, and for what exactly? Increased profits for Big Pharma? Asset-forfeiture? All over a little weed?

Cannabis makes us feel better. It heals not just our bodies but our emotions and our minds. There’s nothing like it and to think our government would rather lie about this plant than treat the American people with respect and dignity by telling us the truth is shameful and appalling.

Enough is enough. Come clean. Do the right thing by all of us. The American people will begin to heal and we’ll do that on our terms, not defined by and built upon a lie. Chronic illness will give way to actual health. I know because I healed with cannabis and I’m healthier now at 58 than I’ve ever been in my life. And that can happen for others.

All we need is a little honesty, a little truth, and then for our government to step out of our way.

The Absence of Integrity

empath and empathy

There’s little else that matters to me than my integrity. While not an uncommon trait for a witch, it’s something that I believe in above anything else. It matters that I’m taken seriously because I don’t lie. An empath as well, empaths cannot tolerate dishonesty in others any more than we can tolerate it in ourselves. So I get a double dose of it I guess.

Deception from others is exhausting. An empath will typically feel in to figure out what’s actually going on. A witch will try to do something about it. No one likes being sold a bill of goods. We want to know exactly what’s going on at any given moment and most of us don’t deal well with dishonesty. And when we figure out what’s happening, we may experience a variety of emotions including betrayal, embarrassment, and anger. No one likes to feel they were lied to or taken advantage of in any way.

Lies matter in the broader scheme of things. If someone lies to gain anything at all, they risk fraud charges. If it happens in relationships, then they risk irreparable damage to those relationships. Everyone else is charged with outing the liar and sometimes that’s not received well, because liars often have supporters who foolishly become part of their game.

The absence of integrity leads people in directions that might benefit them for a time, but eventually it all comes crashing in on them. Lies create more lies and pull others in when they have no idea what’s happening. Before long, the lies are so complicated that it can be difficult to see how they’ve progressed, but typically is has to do with gain of some kind.

The gain involved may be financial in nature, but power and control are at the root of all of it, whether money is involved or it’s not. This may seem obvious, but many people are so passive aggressive that their deception is on a visceral or foundational level for them, and even they might not understand the ramifications of their actions. It never occurs to them that what they want is more about them than what it is they’re focused on and they resist any attempt at course correction.

When you seek to bring truth to a situation, you must be prepared for push back because it will happen. But integrity matters and the fact that so many find that challenging these days accounts for much of the oppressive nonsense we see and experience. We see it in the political arena as well as in our own personal lives as more lies are told to protect the lies that came before. It’s a never ending struggle with people who can’t seem to tell the truth.

Trust matters. Without integrity, trust doesn’t even enter the equation for me. So if someone lies to me, there had better be an explanation that is both understandable and believable. In other words, there had better be some really good extenuating circumstances before I’ll ever consider trusting that person again. Few have those kinds of explanations. Mostly they don’t respond at all, laying low, waiting for someone to rescue them from the situations they create.

They’re cowards, those who act without integrity. They prefer their will above all others and their inability to work collectively with others is sadly impaired. The challenges for the rest of us in dealing with them are many. Keeping these folks from doing too much damage is the least of it. Viewing them as Source Presence and extending them compassion actually should be the easiest thing we can do, but often our wounding gets in the way of that.

The absence of integrity casts a pall over everything. At some point, each of us not only needs to be able to trust, but to be trustworthy. We all matter equally. And we’re all one. So let’s turn a page and begin anew in dignity, integrity, and honor.

Integrity matters that much.

Blessed Be.

Love, Tears and a Whole Bunch of Freedom

2015-06-30 11.34.30

Lots of things have happened in the last few weeks that make this liberal witch’s heart both proud and broken. On the proud side, SCOTUS effectively legalized same-sex marriage in all fifty states. Love won. Another proud moment: a Socialist/Independent is running for President as a Democrat and everyone knows about the Socialist part and he’s speaking to overflow crowds everywhere he goes. And about the whole Socialist aspect of his politics? Evidently the country has had enough of the hate filled conservative party, and might not be too certain of some in the Democratic Party either. We all harassed Liz, hoping that she’d jump in, but she’s busy taking care of the country as a Senator so at this point, her populist influence will continue to enhance the conversation. And then we have Hillary. Fabulous woman. So far, it’s been a joy to watch her toy with the media. This election will be a lesson on the power of women. Hillary is standing in her own power, and it’s a sight to behold. Bush has no idea what being a decider is. Hillary, not to minimize her success as an attorney, First Lady, Senator, and Secretary of State, is a Mom, and now a Grandma. Best step out of her way.

My heart broke as we all learned of a mass murder at Mother Emanuel Church, an act of domestic terrorism on family, because that’s what we But then both a more nuanced conversation began happening as well as a more direct one surrounding race in this country. President Obama, while delivering his eulogy of Reverand Clementa Pinckney and the other blessed souls who gave their lives that day, suggested that the killer didn’t know God was using him for a purpose far higher than he intended. That boy just didn’t understand that, with all the hate spilling out of him. The families forgave him, something he also didn’t anticipate. I still cry at that one, spiritual teachers, all. And while state legislators were trying to decide when to have the discussion to set the time for the potential meeting to discuss the possibility of showing some respect for all those lives destroyed by racism, segregation, and slavery by taking down the confederate flag, a beautiful woman named Bree Newsome climbed the flagpole at the state capitol and took down that damn flag. She was immediately, and happily it seemed, arrested as she climbed down, all the while reciting scripture as she did. She stood up for what was right, and I applaud her.

It’s darkest before the dawn, it’s said. Black churches are burning. Protest rallies in support of flying the confederate flag will take place this weekend. Voter suppression efforts are continuing as the Supreme Court tells one state no. How that will affect other states’ efforts to control the outcome of future elections seems irrelevant at this point given that some of these same states are signalling they’re not interested in issuing same-sex marriage licenses. They’re only interested in outcomes that serve their own position.

On the freedom side of things, today is the first day when cannabis is legal in Oregon. Even with the bumpy road our state legislature has chosen to travel on the issue, irritating voters in the process (we’ll remember come the next election, folks), we can grow it, consume it, share it, and that feels pretty great. It doesn’t really affect me as an OMMP patient, but my husband is thrilled. The sun is shining on my girls, my bees are visiting them, and life is a whole lot more interesting in the garden.

Instead of trying to tear everything down, how about focusing on things that make everything better? What the voices of hate don’t understand, like the killer of the nine blessed souls at Mother Emanuel, is that the rest of us aren’t going away. We’re building in intensity and we’ll overcome everything you try to do. And we won’t stop until love replaces your hate. We’re on a roll. We’re climbing that flag pole and bringing down the hate filled ideology that’s kept this country from being all that our constitution defines it as. Liberty and justice for all means something. It’s not just for some, it’s for all. We need to let go of the division. We need to embrace unity. Our potential together is so much greater than apart.

We could start by legalizing cannabis federally. Trust me, you don’t feel like arguing with someone you’ve just shared a pipe with. Lots of smiling, good conversation, laughing…pretty soon, you discover you actually like each other…no telling where we might go from there..

~Blessed be our One Family
