Strength From Unified Presence ~ Rune and Tarot for 15 June 2017

Strength From Unified Presence ~ Rune and Tarot for 15 June 2017

Strength from unifed presence is what comes to mind as I look at today’s tarot and runecasting. 13 represents the numerology for the tarot cards. I can also reduce that to 4 but I prefer to consider 13 as a Master Witch number. The numerology of the runes reduces to 3, or unification and wholeness and together with the tarot numerology, the overall numerology for the combined reading is 7, or divinity and intuition. 7 also happens to be a number that represents magick.

Two cards from the Major Arcana along with one from the suit of Cups comprise the tarot portion of the reading. The Empress, the 6 of Cups, and The Emperor create a lovely balance with the result of their union represented by the 6 of Cups in the center with its multicolored roots extending in an as above so below manner. Cups represents Elemental Water and our emotional presence, our intuition, and relationships with others. Its direction is West and is represented by the chalice or cauldron signifying receptivity and fertility, as it transmutes Air and Fire into form.

Mannaz, Raidho, and Perthro are today’s runes representing Earth, Air, and Water elements respectively and support the interplay between The Empress and her consort, The Emperor. Take notice of their order in the deck. She appears first and from her flows the entirety of creation signifying her greater importance, the current patriarchy having no place in the equation.

Looking at The Empress and Mannaz first, we see a beautiful white pink-tipped tree with a crescent moon in the night sky above. The Empress represents love, beauty, abundance, and happiness. She is the Goddess in her Mother Aspect, receptive and fertile, and the essence of feminine creativity and the subconscious realm. Mannaz brings into the reading the influence of mankind’s fragility. In disunity, our partnership is threatened, with Mannaz encouraging us to seek assistance from others, understanding that we are part of a greater consciousness with harmony our fundamental goal.

Raidho and the 6 of Cups both discuss the journey we take in form, Raidho signifying harmony and right purpose, the 6 of Cups denoting family and fulfillment. The Wild Unknown Tarot uses animals and trees in its depictions and in the 6 of Cups we see an as above so below expression with the tree above and its massive root system below. Positioned between The Empress and The Emperor, the card reflects all that they create together in balanced unified presence. Raidho indicates rhythmic motion in partnership with others, attuned to a higher purpose.

Finally, The Emperor stands tall representing structure and leadership. Fatherhood and the conscious realm along with benevolence and stability are among this card’s influences. He provides a certain kind of balance to The Empress although without her he would not exist. Boundaries, protection, and order are felt with The Emperor as he assists The Empress in providing the structure for success. Perthro represents the mystery of fate and is thought of as the childbirth rune. Perthro points to correct action, something The Emperor needs to stay in balance. Healing and understanding are among Perthro’s influences and provide The Emperor with a window into the unknown.

Our strength is found in unified presence with the collective consciousness. We are not the bodies we inhabit but in fact, the Creator personified into form. While we understand the idea that our bodies have to work in harmony in order that we continue to live, we miss that application to humanity as a whole. In harmonious union with each other, our roots run deep and provide all the strength we need for an abundant experience.

While the future is unwritten, we instinctively know that in unity, our success is far more assured than when we’re at each others’ throats. It was nice to see both sides of the aisle come together after the shooting yesterday of a Republican Congressman, two Capitol Police officers, and a Lobbyist who were practicing for today’s game. Irrespective of our differences, it’s clear that the only thing to do now is to come together.

The insanity of this moment requires that we pause and remember that we’re one family, no matter how things have been between us of late. It’s time to remember who we are and let the strength of our love guide us forward.

Blessings to all!

Spiritual Awareness ~ Full Moon Runecasting And Bindrune 9 June 2017

Spiritual Awareness ~ Full Moon Runecasting And Bindrune 9 June 2017

Tonight is the Full Strawberry Moon and I decided to do a runecasting prior to tonight’s Esbat ritual for a bindrune invoking spiritual awareness. As a side note, I harvested my first strawberry of the season out in my medicinal garden, tiny, but sweet and yummy and I also crafted a new set of runes from some Black Locust I have growing next to one of my ponds. We brought the trees in from my husband’s parent’s home before it sold years ago and now the trees are producing blooms that are so beautiful! I hadn’t yet crafted any runes from them and their blooms reminded me of that fact. So my husband kindly cut some rune stock from a branch he had pruned last year and I spent a couple of days sanding and wood burning until the runes felt right in my hands.

Runes have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Although I do buy runes made from stone, I always make my wooden runes. There’s something about a witch’s interaction between the wood itself and the sanding and engraving process that makes every set a reflection of the witch’s inner vision. I create them in the order established by the Elder Futhark, visualizing each rune’s meaning.

For this Full Strawberry Moon runecasting, I drew Perthro, Mannaz, Eihwaz, Jera, and Fehu. Runes have many influences and the well of Wyrd, rational thought, paradox, transformation and balance, and wealth are the primary influences contained within the runecasting. I derive the overall numerology of a runecasting from their numerical placement in the Futhark, so individually they are 14, 20, 13, 12, and 1 respectively, with 6, or the sacred layer of Higher Self presence, as the runecasting’s overall numerological influence.

Perthro is the rune of fate, the unknown, and the cup from which runes are cast. A Water Element rune, its numerology of 5 reinforces the elemental influence of change. Also known as the childbirth rune, Perthro also represents birth if pointing to the right or death if pointing to the left. It reveals memories and can be visualized in meditation to experience past lives. Perthro represents the simplicity of cause and effect on the physical plane as well as the alignment of our nonphysical aspect of Self.

Intuition is balanced with our rational mind with Mannaz, the 20th rune of the Elder Futhark. An Earth rune, Mannaz represents humanity’s need for partnership and helps us understand our role in the greater community or society at large. It teaches us to live our lives in the present moment and to understand that we are part of a greater unified presence.

The 13th rune of the Elder Futhark, Eihwaz provides the connection between physical and nonphysical aspects of Self, the link between realms. It provides both structure and transformation, infusing Spirit into form and creates movement from one energetic state to another, eliminating stagnation that prevents clarity.

Another Earth rune, Jera is the rune of transformation and balance, fertility, and positive change. It’s useful to hang in the garden as part of a bindrune for growth as well as to bring harmony and alignment to relationships. Luck, prosperity, and the cycles of life are among Jera’s influences.

We end with Fehu, the sending rune representing wealth and traditionally, cattle. A Fire Element rune, Fehu begins the Elder Futhark and increases wealth and abundance as well as the witch’s ability to send energetic intentions. As the final rune of the runecasting, I believe it’s there to organize and send the collective energy of the runes above it.

Perthro opens us to experiencing the partnership of Mannaz while Eihwaz infuses that spiritual awareness into our daily lives. Jera further transforms our relationships into a conscious, unified presence with all. And Fehu provides the catalyst necessary to cast the intention of unified presence to the universe.

I created a bindrune along with a planetary sigil using the magick square for Jupiter and burned both onto a piece of juniper to invoke spiritual awareness of our unified presence. I like working with both types of sigils and have been using them together lately. The sigil from the magick square uses the letters associated with each rune to obtain their numerological equivalent and I drew the sigil from there.

I blessed and consecrated the sigil with the following chant. I used the Latin version:

  • I bind these runes     (Circum nos imbuit)
  • Blending energies within     (Melicos intra resonantia)
  • Bringing balance without    (Componere sine)
  • Infused with immanence     (Splendido immanentia vestiganda)
  • I bless and consecrate this sigil     (Benedico et consecrare hoc sigil)
  • In alignment with Goddess     (In noctis per Dea)
  • It is done     (Consummatum est)

Sigil magick is great to use when you want to create a symbol for a collective influence or intention. It can be as complicated or as simple as you like; it’s all a reflection of your own process. I wrote a book called Magick and the Aligned Witch in which I discuss working magick from an aligned state. Magick worked from an aligned state is less about consequences or trying to create the space for one thing or another to happen and more about creating the space for remembrance of who we are. We’re not here to judge others or expect them to live in accordance with our respective comfort levels. And casting our intentions when aligned in Source Presence allows us to see all as extensions of Self and the Creator and experience the truth of their perfection.

Now in the time of ascension, many are awakening to the truth of who they are and magick that creates the space for that process to happen in perfect love and perfect trust is the primary focus of this witch. Witches stand in observation of the world around them, secure in their knowing that all of it is an illusion of form. We can participate within that subjective, ego-based structure or reflect one that engages from an awareness of Higher Self. The choice is ours.

Our focus can no longer be on what separates us, but in fact, the awareness that we are one unified presence. We can no longer afford to be confused about this truth allowing hate and division to drive the conversation. We are so much more than we have been led to believe. We are the Creator, focused into the fabric of space/time, in collective creation of the universe.

My dear family, we are so much more than we thought, and it’s time to awaken to that truth.

Blessed Be

We Are Now And Forever One Family ~ Tarot for 6 June 2017

We Are Now And Forever One Family ~ Tarot for 6 June 2017

My new tarot deck arrived today. The Wild Unknown Tarot is designed and interpreted by Kim Krans and I happened upon it by accident. But I’m so happy that I did because her drawings are amazing. Her use of background lines creates a sense of flow similar to the Thoth tarot deck, and her use of animals instead of people brings a Spirit animal or Totem presence to the deck. It’s Shamanic and invokes an intuitive feeling.

Krans has reordered the Major Arcana in the same manner Crowley used in the Thoth deck and other than the Court Cards she keeps the same traditional titles. The Court cards are renamed Daughter, Son, Mother, and Father as in the Haindl tarot but again she uses animals in her depictions instead of people.

Today’s reading is comprised of two cards from Pentacles, one from Wands and Swords, and one card from the Major Arcana. Cups are absent and the overall numerology is 33 or the Master Teacher number for Christ Consciousness. If I reduce 33 to 6 (which I typically do not do) then it brings the influence of home, structure, and the sacredness of Higher Self consciousness into the reading.

Beginning with the 3 of Pentacles, a great mountain rises above three joined pentacles representing Fire, Air, and Water. Teamwork along with creative efforts foster material results and a solid foundation. Synthesis and growth stem from organization and focus.

Four pentagrams are linked together, working in concert toward a greater goal. The 4 of Pentacles illustrates wealth that’s building, a legacy based on material gain. The connectedness appears contained, which might suggest an unwillingness to extend that wealth to others, but most interpretations suggest a comfortable and solid financial foundation.

I love Krans’s drawing of the 10 of Wands. A bramble-like stand of barren brush stands ominously in front of a black background with light peeking through denoting difficulty but with new options on the horizon. The branches in disarray suggest many commitments along with oppression, possibly self-induced. We’ve gone as far as we can and irrespective of the situation, it’s time to move past perceived limitations to welcome new experiences.

Instead of an alchemist or an angel, Krans depicts Temperance as a great blue heron standing next to an alchemical blending of water and fire. Renewal, healing, and self-control are among Temperance’s interpretations along with purification and moderation. In the hidden influence position, Temperance is asking us to remain calm amidst the chaos.

In the outcome position, the 2 of Swords is beautiful regardless of the deck used. Typically a blindfolded woman is depicted holding two crossed swords, but in The Wild Unknown deck, a bright orange corona surrounds a dark sun appearing in the center of the crossed tips. Although deception and distraction may exist, a decision must be reached, with a more dispassionate viewpoint necessary to move on.

Life can be overwhelming. It always seems as if nonsense is behind every corner and we have to be savvy in order that we see beyond the bullshit. We know that together we can accomplish anything, but forces beyond our control turn everything upside down making clarity difficult at best. We also know that a calm demeanor gets us further than letting our emotions run amok.

I think it’s fairly clear now that our country is being scammed by the so-called new guy in the White House. Given all the information to date, it appears that we’re being collectively fleeced by this guy and his family. One of the more shameful reports I read about today involves making a buck off of charity money for children with cancer. Who are these people? Because it seems far more insidious than simply interference by Russia in our election. As bad as that is, I have a feeling that as more and more information comes out, the gravity of who they are and what they’re actually doing there will be more of a shock than those who voted for him can handle.

Not that anyone should care.

The histrionics and itchy tweeting fingers will be the so-called new guy’s undoing. Or perhaps as some have suggested it may start a war. Qatar has been tweeted under the bus and I wonder if he even knows that our Forward Central Command is located there. He’s easily led with no real foundation to judge anything by. Leaders with nefarious intentions will use him at our expense, leaving our country at such risk.

A decision must be made by all of us in complete clarity, ignoring the deception that inundates us daily. We must come together and kick these people to the curb before they destroy everything we’ve built. For all the change that was desired, was this really what those who voted for him expected? Did they think they’d lose their health insurance? Or did they believe this grifter hook, line, and sinker?

He used his supporters and the country, if not the world, is in jeopardy because of that usury. He never intended to live up to anything he promised, reciting The Snake at a rally to bring that truth home. Did his supporters even listen? Did they understand what he was telling them, essentially saying they knew he was a snake when they elected him? How could they not understand who he is when it was so obvious to the rest of us?

I earned a Black Belt in Kenpo Karate in 1991 and taught for several years in the school that my husband and I owned. Self-defense can take many forms including running away, blocking a punch following up with a strike or kick, or striking first when it’s evident that one’s attacker is telegraphing his assault. The other thing we can do is redirect the attacker’s assault, leaving him off-balance, gaining control over the situation. Why expend energy if we don’t have to? Instead, let the dumbass run about, exhausting himself while we play with him like a cat tormenting a mouse.

It’s beyond awful watching all of this unfold. We’re being given a birdseye view of the destructive effects of a white nationalist ideology where only the pure survive. And we simply cannot allow this to happen. As stressful as all of this is for most of us, we have to remain calm and centered or our efforts will be in vain.

Dear friends, we must collectively become the cat and observe our prey, pouncing when the time is just right, you know, like during the Comey hearing on Thursday. The new guy gives us everything we need and then some and his lack of impulse control will prevent him from saving his own ass while we stay in control, ready to clean up the mess when all is said and done.

The numerology provides the basis for our success. The new guy has spent his life detached from everything that the rest of the world experiences on a daily basis, extreme wealth his only teacher. 33 suggests that our Higher Self as our Master Teacher should inform our decisions instead of overreaction and tweeting everything from fake news to classified information as the new guy insists on doing.

The truth is, we are now and forever one family, no matter how these fools try to tear us apart. And we will be victorious in the end.

Blessed Be

When Life Becomes A Preexisting Condition

Life As A Preexisting Condition

In the new guy’s version of life in this country, preexisting conditions should be allowed only for those who can pay for them. And one foolish congressman even went so far as to suggest that the sickest among us should be paying more than people who have remained healthy as if chronic illness or cancer, for example, are due to someone’s irresponsibility or negligence. He probably didn’t like it when the smart girl blew the curve in school either.

But here’s the thing. We live in a country where income inequality is the norm and that translates into not enough money to eat well. Most people don’t grow their own food anymore so they have no control over the pesticides used on the crops or whether or not the seeds used were genetically modified into something our bodies don’t recognize.

Instead, we’re put on the treadmill of chronic disease, beholden to the medical community, although well-meaning, who focus on symptom treatment in lieu of actually figuring out how we became sick in the first place. Other than doctors in functional medicine or herbalists and naturopaths, most don’t consider diet, mindset, emotional issues, or environmental factors that could be at the root of chronic illness preferring instead to prescribe this pill or that injection.

I suffered from rheumatoid arthritis for over thirteen years, but it was for that length of time that it was severe. Nothing the doctors did relieved any of the pain, inflammation, fatigue, swelling, or fluid retention that I experienced. Instead, I seemed to stay in one place, severe. When a commercial came on television selling a medication for RA they would always say it treated moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis. I would look at my husband and remark that someday I hoped my RA would be moderate. It was one of those moments of dark humor that got us through those years.

And now that I’ve been in clinical remission for the last six years and off the last of the prescribed drugs since September 2015, my doctor did some blood work and lo and behold, the daily coffees my husband makes that would make a barista blush have affected my glucose level. I got a call from her nurse and she told me that my doctor wants to schedule an A1C test to screen for diabetes. No discussion, or even the glucose number, just go have a test.

Perhaps they didn’t notice in my chart that my primary care doctor when I was so ill had prescribed Metformin after doing a glucose tolerance test and endless A1C tests, diagnosing insulin resistance when my glucose numbers stayed elevated. After becoming a cannabis patient in June 2010 and making my own concentrated medicines at the end of that year, two and one-half months later I was in clinical remission. I began discontinuing several of the prescribed drugs on my own that I could safely do, but when discontinuing the Metformin the same primary care doctor who initially prescribed it helped with that. A change in diet has always been the way to get my glucose number to come down but instead of having that conversation first, it’s test time.

Now with the republicans in the process of destroying health care in this country, the last thing anyone needs is to have a diagnosis of something that’s situational in nature that can then become a preexisting condition. You’d think if Congress wants to go this route of endangering the citizenry so that the wealthiest among us become even more wealthy, they’d legalize cannabis. The tax revenue alone would be staggering. Prescription drug costs would be considerably lower, our collective health likely improving overall, but then the drug companies who line lawmakers’ election coffers might not be so generous at the next election. So the struggle for truth and dignity continues.

Apparently, rape is now a preexisting condition if this monstrosity is signed into law. Does this also apply to children who are raped by their fathers? Will they be punished with a preexisting condition if they report the abuse? The congresspeople who voted for it, my own congressman included, exhibit an astonishing level of moral bankruptcy and have clearly lost their fundamental compassion for humanity. One wonders how they sleep at night, but after today’s kegger at the white house in celebration of their victory, I’m sure they’ll sleep like babies.

If this passes the senate, then women like my daughter-in-law won’t have their pregnancies covered. Medicaid will be trashed and Medicare is next. They’ll leave everyone hanging and people will die as a result. There has never been a clearer example of us versus them ideology than what we’re seeing now. It’s destructive and unsustainable, but it’s full steam ahead anyway.

Even if this doesn’t pass the senate, as members are signaling that it will not, today’s vote gives us a window into the mindset of the people who believe the death of our citizens is an acceptable outcome. But when we finally have health insurance that we can depend on and republicans want to either take that away or make it completely unaffordable, something tells me that our response will be greater than the republicans can imagine let alone survive.

The republicans shouldn’t have targeted women and children in this bill. They shouldn’t have targeted veterans, seniors, or the chronically ill. Because when a mother finds that her child with asthma or cancer can no longer get the care she so desperately needs, trust me the ground will open up around them and shit will get real. Women, mothers or not, are sick of the government’s interference in our lives and as republicans continue their destructive behavior, we’ll pay close attention and then we’ll vote their sorry asses out of office.

I sat by the new hives out in the apiary today watching the new bees become acclimated to their new homes. They exist in unified presence with each other, each one valued and necessary. They work together to feed the brood and to protect their queen. Everything is about the survival of the colony, a notion of family that escapes republicans now in control. None of this surprises me, however, now that the fascist floodgates have been flung open. The cruelty present within the republican mindset is breathtaking. It’s nasty and to think they celebrated with a beer after it was done.

So now we await the Senate’s response. I won’t be holding my breath. Besides, in the process, I’d probably develop another preexisting condition, irresponsible person that I am.

Just ask Mo.

Update: got my blood test results and after Jerry’s insane coffees it was only 114. Now I see why she neglected to mention the number. I wouldn’t have mentioned it either lest I be laughed off the phone. Now ADA recommends <100 even though the test range is 74-106 for fasting 12 hours except that I probably only fasted for 7 or 8. Why does the number keep going down? My theory: it puts more money in the pocket of Big Pharma as more prescriptions are written. Still not drinking anymore of that coffee even though it’s yummilicious.

A Circle Of Protection To Bind Their Fate

A Circle of Protection To Bind Their Fate

Protection can take many forms. It can be defensive or offensive in nature as with martial arts, or it can be born of inner awareness. Rune magick is a method of bringing runic influences together in sigil form for a specific purpose. It can be divination-oriented, or it can bring about a change of some kind. I use sigils in general because they represent a focused intention. I like how they organize my thoughts around whatever situation I’m concerned with. Lately, my thoughts have been on protection.

I was listening to a woman speak today on a podcast who was talking about how unsustainable it is to provide financial assistance to people in our country. She had a Darwinian bent and appeared to believe that survival of the fittest was the best way to solve our problems. I don’t share her premise or perspective because I know that we’re one collective consciousness and how we live should reflect that truth.

It would be like expecting each cell in our bodies to survive on its own without the integration required so that our bodies exist and function properly. The same concept is true in a bee colony. I’m someone who is kept by bees. I’d say I’m a beekeeper, but bees don’t need a keeper so it feels odd to call myself that. Anyway, the hive wouldn’t survive long if a survival of the fittest attitude swept the colony. Then they probably would need a keeper. You know, like the so-called new guy seems to need.

Today’s runecasting centers around protection. But it doesn’t necessarily reflect the intention of protection against something or someone. Sometimes our greatest protection involves how we interpret what’s happening around us. As A Course in Miracles tells us, we give everything we see the meaning it has. Now the bulk of humanity may agree with our assessment, but we’re still giving everything we experience the meaning it has.

If we can look dispassionately at situations that are concerning, then we’re better able to view them with more clarity than when we’re caught up in our reactions to whatever is occurring. So in a real sense, protection should also involve our choice of reaction.

Additionally, our state of mind, be it loving or not, should also influence our feeling of protection, again reflecting that dispassionate view that helps keep us centered and aligned. So when I was looking at some bindrunes I’ve created over the last few months, I selected those that protected, aligned, extended love, and invoked a centered and unified presence to surround today’s runecasting creating a greater a circle of protection to support its message.

Othala, Gebo, and Hagalaz are today’s runes and bring influences of our Akash and ancestral heritage, balanced energy exchange, and then a little destruction in preparation for impending change with some hawthorn twigs rounding out the protection influences. Othala represents our collective nature, both in physical and nonphysical form. It asserts that our greatest achievements are accomplished together, Darwin be damned.

Moving deocil around spread, the witch invokes change and Hagalaz as the witch rune accomplishes this task. It provides the balanced structure necessary for positive change to unfold and provides blessings to speed the process.

Gebo reflects both inner and outer balance and teaches us to live in harmony with each other. Again, Darwin’s not finding a home here. Using the example of our bodies again, when the body is not in balance then disease or ill health results. If the imbalance is left unchecked, the body may not survive. It’s the same with humanity. We won’t survive if we don’t bring our polarities back into balance. The masculine has run amok and the feminine has had enough. The answer is a more balanced approach but the masculine energy disagrees and here we are now, in need of some protection.

But we don’t need a savior, even if he’s back from vacation. We need clarity. We need truth. And when we have that, the answers will be clear. But until that happens, we need to remain as aligned as possible in Higher Self awareness, viewing what’s unfolding with discernment, taking a dispassionate stance.

Disinformation and distraction seem to be the mantra of the new regime. But in time the proverbial man behind the curtain will be revealed and then heads will roll, the circle of protection binding their fate. We’re being shown a future that few anticipated or wanted. A country reflects everyone within. The people make up its heart and vitality, its blood supply extending life to all.

We’re not a business decision, a deal to be made, or a company to be closed. We’re the very life force without which this country would not even exist and we have always been more than the sum of our parts. We cannot be dismissed as irrelevant because we most certainly are not.

We see you, in all your predatory ugliness. We know what you’re doing and you’re not going to get away with it. You believe you can strip mine us into oblivion all while making a buck off of the deal.

But then you’re a fool.

You’ll create a mess that you won’t be able to clean up. But don’t worry. The rest of us, in our unity of purpose, in the protection of all that we have co-created together, will be happy to do that for you.

Blessed Be

Life Bends Toward Love

Life Bends Toward Love

Marine Le Pen is running for President of France and if she wins, she will be their first female President. She has nationalist beliefs and not everyone is comfortable with that ideology. With any luck, she’ll lose and France will be spared the nonsense our country is experiencing. It would be sad if nationalist fervor swept the entire world. Enough people are suffering as it is and if France has to wait a while longer for a female President, then so be it. Compassion and unity of purpose are more important than whatever nationalist policies Ms. Le Pen has to offer anyway.

Gender issues aside, it’s clear that white nationalism and racism have taken hold, at least in our country, and its insidious nature is destroying lives. It’s become all too easy to dismiss entire groups of people if it furthers the agenda of those in power. Several news outlets have reported that our new attorney general believes that child tax credits are going to ‘mostly Mexicans’ and can pay for the wall. He’s not kidding. Everything this man says and does reflects his racist beliefs. Everything. And his presence in tandem with the current occupant of the White House will threaten civil rights protections that have taken years to put in place.

As I’ve written many times, I believe that the Creator is All That Is and that we all comprise that greater loving Presence. We each make a choice to live out our lives in unity with others or with a self-oriented focus, the nationalistic, fascist, racist ideology that’s gaining strength right now a reflection of the latter. And if left unchecked, there will be no positive outcome.

But while all of this is going on there’s an awakening happening around the planet. Unity with others isn’t simply a practical solution to our collective problems but is, in fact, our fundamental reality as one collective consciousness. Continued efforts by the vested interest of a few to keep everyone in some predetermined place doesn’t reflect who we are. If it did, it wouldn’t be a struggle. We’d go quietly.

And yet, resistance is growing to oppressive ideologies that do nothing but cause pain.

Still, some fervently believe they’ll have control over the side on which they’ll be placed when it’s all said and done. The disconnect is shocking and I wonder what their reaction will be when they can no longer turn a blind eye to who and what they’ve supported as they fall victim to the divide and conquer strategy that’s unfolding.

However, as our awakening continues, the momentum built by our unified presence is creating a tipping point and in time light will overtake the darkness. This is a given. Life always bends toward love. Always. And love will win in the end.

Many blessings to our one family as we find our way back to each other once again.

Revolution ~ Tarot for 11 April 2017

Revolution ~ Tarot for 11 April 2017

While we began in Ruin yesterday, we begin today experiencing Conflict leading to revolution. An oddly shaped rock structure rises in the background in the 5 of Wands, powerful yet worn. Competition and strife are felt by the five upward pointing spears, flames rising from each tip. A balanced hierarchy exists with the center spear in dominance. Its hexagram is titled Revolution based on higher principles instead of power. Without that aspect present on the card, we’re not really sure of the genesis of the conflict. In this case, it appears the conflict is in service of a greater good.

The High Priestess appears next in the reading illustrating a luminous goddess, her hands raised in supplication to the moon. A large bubble hides her countenance creating mystery and suggesting secret knowledge and inner wisdom. A camel appears below representing the Hebrew glyph on the above left reinforced by the rune, Uruz on the right representing the strength of the aurochs and manifestation of consciousness into form. A card of the Moon, The High Priestess represents the Divine Feminine, intuition, stillness, and alignment.

With inner wisdom as our guide, a conflict born of revolution, when focused on a higher purpose can yield the Richness depicted by the 10 of Stones. The blessings found in legacy built from community effort are felt with this card. Its hexagram is The Well representing the resources necessary to establish and preserve the needs of the community at large.

In the hidden influence position, The Fool reminds us that we’re forever on a journey to remembrance and awakening. We can always correct course and refocus in a more positive direction. A focus on the present moment releases expectations that seem to only hinder our progression, allowing us to develop our infinite potential.

We end with the 3 of Swords titled Mourning. Two swords are suspended with their tips pointing to the earth. A tear emerges from a wound in the background. A third sword is suspended to the side as if standing aside from the drama. Its hexagram suggests Retreat from a situation based on past conflict or hurt in an effort to gain a new perspective. Although the card suggests some pain is involved a running theme of the reading focuses on turning weakness or disadvantage into strength associated with a higher purpose.

Three can indicate a synthesis of some kind, in this case, understanding gained from the inner awareness that with unified effort revolutionary ideas can find their genesis, creating a stronger and happier future for all. The overall numerology of the reading is 2 or choice. And it’s clear that the choice that gives us ultimate joy is found in unity with others.

Those who wish only power will find that the rest of us have no intention of cooperating with their self-possessed agenda. They can change the narrative in any way they like but it will still come out the same. Deception and betrayal have a funny way of spawning revolution.

Humanity’s time has come. It’s time for the foolish ones to either get on board or step out of the way.

Our Tradition of Fellowship ~ Tarot for 6 April 2017

Our Tradition of Fellowship ~ Tarot for 6 April 2017

Master numbers in numerology carry additional influence or weight. A pattern emerged right away in today’s tarot reading. The 8 of Stones and the 3 of WandsKnowledge and Virtue result in 11 or illumination, instinct, and our subconscious. The Lovers, the 3 of Stones, and the 2 of Swords result in the same. Two elevens are significant on their own. I can leave them as they are, or I can add them together resulting in 22, the Master Builder representing discipline, manifestation, leadership, and potential. The 3 of Stones in the outcome position is titled Work which reinforces the overall numerology of 22 so I’ll use that.

Stones (Pentacles and Disks in other decks) begin and end the reading with one card each from Wands and Swords present. One card from the Major Arcana appears and the Elements of Earth, Fire, and Air are influencing.

We begin with Knowledge and the 8 of Stones. Haindl paints a stone temple in the background, a small window visible, with seven boulders suspended in mid-air. A bubble represents the eighth stone suggesting possibility. An elephant, possibly a mammoth, appears in the rock face at the bottom left reinforcing instinctual knowledge. The missing eighth stone suggests that we pay close attention to detail so that our resulting foundation is strong. Haindl includes hexagrams from the IChing on the numbered cards from the Minor Arcana. Hexagram 62 titled, Preponderance of the Small, reinforces our attention to detail.

The Lovers appears next illustrating a man and a woman as they pledge their commitment to each other. The Goddess has taken a consort. Both nude, they come together in transparent love and joy, their union depicted by a downward facing spear as it enters a golden chalice. A rose containing a Merkaba appears above the man’s head while an inquisitive unicorn appears above the woman, her flowing hair rock-like suggesting her ancient countenance. They stand between two trees, the Tree of Knowledge and the Tree of Life. A card of Gemini, although I draw this differently, a rune depicting Kenaz or Torch, appears at the top right suggesting passion and transformational creative energy.

Virtue is the title of the 3 of Wands. Three flame-tipped spears appear in front of a stone structure. A window behind opens to new experiences. Synthesis and expansion along with the traditional values of compassion and cooperation are the 3 of Wand‘s influences. The Cauldron is the title of the hexagram which reinforces the importance of traditional values which “enrich the present and the future”¹ Other decks illustrate the 3 of Wands as an individual waiting for his ship to come in. Haindl’s version appears less about waiting for a life yet to come and more about the virtues of solid preparation based on shared values and tradition, certainly a more proactive influence than standing around waiting for something to happen.

Shared values foster a sense of union with others. We were never meant to go it alone. The numerology of the initial three cards is 8 or structure and strength which also reinforces our need for community reflecting a focus on the greater good over one that is more single-minded.

In the position of hidden influence is the 2 of Swords. Two swords point downward in front of a wintry scene suggesting calm and Peace. A grove of trees stands in the distance behind a stone temple. The two swords project a balanced force, yet the blood-tinged moon above suggests that it’s an uneasy peace that’s been struck. But there’s a sense as well that the conflict is now past, left in the distance and now we’re embracing new thinking reflecting equanimity with others. The hexagram Peace reinforces the meaning of the 2 of Swords as adaptability is preferred over conflict.

Three boulders are positioned at the bottom of the 3 of Stones in a triangular pattern suggesting material structure. In the outcome position, the card is clearly telling us that progress takes unified work. A cross of sorts appears in the background, the vertical axis representing the strength of Spirit while the horizontal axis representing form appears less clear. Nothing appears certain when in form compared to the strength and clarity of Spirit. Fellowship of Man is the title of the hexagram which appears on the card counseling that universal ideas and values in an ordered framework…inspires humanistic cooperation.²

In other words, we go forward together if we want to truly accomplish anything, a concept that seems to escape the so-called new guy. He apparently believes that countries can be effectively run as he would his businesses, forgetting that it’s people who live in those countries. He’s more interested in his ratings which are in the crapper by the way than he is on the needs of the American people.

He speaks without considering the effect of his words. And now that we have dead children in Syria, killed from a chemical attack, and the little guy from North Korea test-firing a missile, we have to trust this appallingly ignorant man to respond appropriately to provocative acts which seem to be taunting a man who has so little impulse control that he takes to social media to lob unlimited accusations and threats against anyone who disagrees or disparages him.

He would do well to heed the counsel of the 8 of Stones and learn something about attention to detail. Without that, he speaks without knowing anything, something his advisors appear content to let him do. They’re apparently so hell-bent on stripping our government down to the barest of bones that they can’t see what any of that will do to people. Again, countries are filled with people and this kind of destruction will leave everyone reeling. But his focus is on his own perception of greatness instead of on the greater good and it’s doubtful he can reconcile this conflict within any time soon.

He views himself as the Master Builder, yet he lacks the self-discipline necessary to actually lead this country into a better tomorrow, leaving that work in the hands of his son-in-law, a thirty-six-year-old real estate heir while the Feds investigate his involvement with Russia. He touts the need to make our country great again yet doesn’t possess the fundamental values a sitting president should share with the rest of the country.

Of course, people who live in countries do something else with their time. They vote. The Fellowship of Man aligns well with our sense of tradition and is the perfect ending of today’s Haindl tarot reading because it’s a reminder that it’s in fellowship and unity that we do our greatest work. We all know this to be true because we couldn’t have achieved what we have without it.

Apparently, the orange guy has yet to get the memo.

Blessed Be

In Unification, We Experience Completion ~ Tarot for 3 April 2017

In Unification, We Experience Completion ~ Tarot for 3 April 2017

I’ll begin with the numerology of today’s reading because of its interesting pattern. Initially, we see a 3, 9, 21, 12, and 9. Reducing to single digits gives us 3, 9, 3, 3, and 9 arriving at a final numerology of 9 or completion and humanitarianism. What we also have is a number that’s a multiple of three or the catalyst for wholeness and unity.

Another pattern emerges with The Universe, card 21 from the Major Arcana, and The Hanged Man, card 12, each the reverse of the other with both reducing to three. Additionally, those two cards join with the 3 of Wands creating a downward pointing pyramid or triangle with its own numerology of three.

We begin in Unified Presence. Three catalyzes that vibration into unified wholeness as we progress in our experience. From there, six reinforces our Higher Self-awareness, followed by completion found with nine. So it would appear that the collective conscious is tapping us on the shoulder reminding us that we not only begin in Unified Presence but that we also remain such throughout our incarnation into form.

Virtue,  Power, and Fortune are the titles of the numbered cards from the Minor Arcana, the 3 of Wands, 9 of Wands, and the 9 of Cups respectively. Wands dominate representing Elemental Fire and Cups Elemental Water signifying our creative and emotional presence. The 3 and 9 of Wands along with The Universe make up the active influences for today with The Hanged Man in the position of hidden influence and the 9 of Cups as the outcome.

Three spears point upward on the 3 of Wands, flame rising from each tip, representing the synthesis of creation, divinity, and fate. They are suspended before an open window suggesting the possibility of new experiences. The hexagram at the top right signifies The Cauldron or the value of traditions that lead to compassion for the community or tribe reinforcing Virtue, the card’s title.

The 9 of Wands depicts nine upward pointed spears before an ancient-looking tree, again with flames rising from each tip, resonating strength and Power. The hexagram on the top left is called The Army suggesting that established patterns of power and leadership can create an orderly societal structure.

Rounding out the active influences for today, Haindl portrays The Universe with a fire-breathing dragon. Works for me, but then I’m a dragon-loving witch. Completion, synthesis, and rebirth are the influences of The Universe, our journey in form complete. The rune, Gebo, appears at the top right corner suggesting balanced energy exchange. Drawn somewhat differently than in the Elder Futhark, Gebo brings energies of mutual benefit as it promotes relationships with others.

Both the 3 and 9 of Wands talk about patterns and tradition relating to compassion and the expression of power. With the remembrance of our Unified Presence as our guide, we know our greatest power is found in our compassion for the community at large, a service to others focus in lieu of a sole focus on the self. The Universe and its associated rune, Gebo, reinforces this balanced energy exchange with others.

     The Hanged Man

The Hanged Man in the position of hidden influence depicts Odin as he hangs upside down from Yggdrasil awaiting enlightenment along with the gift of the runes. His long hair merges with the earth below while he hangs from the tree above, an expression of as above, so below. The rainbow pictured signifies aligned chakra energy while Odin’s ravens, Hugin and Munin, also known as thought and memory, fly in the sky above bringing him messages from Spirit, while a crescent moon reflecting the Goddess in her Crone phase appears just below the tree. The rune, Tiwaz, appears on the card suggesting power is found in release reinforcing surrender to our Unified Presence as the message of The Hanged Man, encouraging us to release preconceived notions and embrace a deeper experience.

In the Outcome position, the 9 of Cups depicts nine golden chalices suspended in the air, a waterfall pouring into one. Haindl titles this card, Fortune when typically it’s about emotional fulfillment although it’s certainly true that real fortune is found in emotional fulfillment instead of in the acquisition of material possessions. The hexagram on the card is titled Increase suggesting potential that’s developed from expanded resources.

We exist in a duality of sorts reflecting both physical and nonphysical aspects of Self in this journey we take in form. If all we remain aware of is the physical side of Self then duality centers on the polarity between perceived masculine and feminine energies. Everything becomes divided up into this or that, either/or, and then us versus them. We see only separation instead of the Unified Presence that we remain.

As the spiritual awakening that is now being called ascension expands, today’s reading reminds us that we’re less on a journey toward spirituality and on more of a journey of remembrance. When we forget that we’re one collective consciousness it becomes easy to see others as something to fear rather than embrace. Our true power resonates from a moral compass based on compassionate awareness instead of arrogance and control.

We are our greatest resource. As we see with the so-called new guy, money and the perception of power takes us only so far. Without the moral compass and a shared sense of values and tradition, arrogance drives decisions and needless suffering results. It’s simple, really, yet this idea seems to confound an entire party in Congress as well as their new boss.

In unification, we experience completion, the remembrance of Self our journey’s end. We begin in wholeness, in Unified Presence. The challenge we face, therefore, is to remember that truth as we pursue our lives in form. We have a front row seat to a potential future unfolding before us. Will we choose the path of arrogance or a path that leads us back to each other?

Blessings to our One Family!

The Path Around Destruction ~ Tarot for 28 March 2017

The Path Around Destruction

Like the Elder Futhark, tarot decks are divided into three sections that describe the journey of self in form involving the inner self, self in interaction with others, and self in the greater unified presence. Twenty-two cards comprise the Major Arcana and deal with archetypal or foundational influences. The remaining numbered cards along with the Court cards make up the Minor Arcana, divided into four suits representing the elemental energies of Air, Fire, Water, and Earth.

Patterns and relationships between cards are significant with multiples bringing a greater influence particularly when they’re cards from the Major Arcana. Numerology is also considered with some tarot readers adding numbers eleven through fourteen to the Court cards although I typically don’t consider them.

I rarely pose questions prior to shuffling the cards allowing the cards themselves to guide the reading. Three cards appear again from the Major Arcana which makes sense given the concern around the world over the so-called new guy’s endless destructive antics. In fact, we begin with The Tower which is so amazing in the Thoth deck. Fiery and catalytic, fire explodes from a mouth open wide, sharp teeth visible as the all-seeing eye looks on from above, its rays shining forth in all directions. The Tower is coming down, geometric shapes depicting people falling from its windows and roof. The dove of peace flies above while a coiled snake looks on.

The Blessed Conduit between physical and nonphysical aspects of Self, The Star provides inspiration and hope and represents our manifesting dreams. The Goddess pours healing love and light to the earth below. She is inspiration from the Unified Presence creating optimism and joy. When this card appears, we’re to wish upon a star knowing our dreams will become a reality.

Secret knowledge, intuition, and inner wisdom from The Priestess round out the archetypal influences in today’s reading. She sits in meditation, arms raised in supplication to the Moon, the blue, green, and yellow energies of Water, Earth, and Air rising upward. Her eyes closed, a hunter’s bow rests on her lap. The fabric of the universe stretches out before her as flowers, grapes, a pinecone, and a camel emerge in creation from her sacred geometry. The Priestess is the gateway to and from the unconscious realm. She is a wise counselor, finding inner wisdom from alignment with the Unified Presence. As card two from the Major Arcana, The Priestess represents the choice the Fool makes between a focus solely on the self or one that considers the greater good.

Skipping past the hidden influence of the reading, the Prince of Cups appears in the outcome position suggesting movement toward emotional integration. An eagle adorns the Prince’s helmet, a snake coils upward from the chalice he holds in his left hand, a flower held in his right. He waits while his partner in battle drinks its fill from the calm water’s edge. The Prince is passionate and chivalrous, yet if ill-dignified, secretive and ruthless.

The numerology of the reading is nine, the number for completion and humanity. Sometimes our lives need to fall apart in order that we appreciate all that we have, to see that our lives are complete as they are. The Tower falls along with its inhabitants brought down by influences so catalytic as to leave nothing the same. Yet the all seeing eye of the Creator is unfazed by The Tower‘s destruction, certain that rebirth and renewal are its true outcome. The Star asks us to trust in the power of our aligned creative essence, knowing that our dreams are fully within our grasp.

As we align in our inner presence, like The Priestess, we go within and create the world we see and experience. The 10 of Cups appears in the position of hidden influence reminding us that when in emotional balance, Satiety is ours to experience. Ten cups positioned in the shape of the ten Sephirot of the Kabbalistic Tree of Life, the overflowing water suggesting that we balance what we need with the desire to push past all limits. Self-doubt finds no purchase with the 10 of Cups as we continue on with our journey in contentment and joy.

I can’t help but associate The Tower card from the Thoth tarot with the so-called new guy. I still can’t refer to him as the president. He’s a buffoon and lacks the moral compass to lead anyone anywhere except off the proverbial cliff. But while he turns the country upside down our lives must go on. I’m not recommending that we ignore the idiot because that’s not realistic. But what we can do is keep one eye on the toddler while we go on with our day. He’ll hate it, but he has pseudo-campaign rallies and endless golf games to keep him satiated while the rest of us find our contentment and joy in more appropriate ways.

In the end, The Tower will be rebuilt, made stronger by the revelation brought by its destruction. Our wish will be fulfilled and the orange loud mouth will go away, replaced by a more balanced and integrated approach to governance.

The message of today’s tarot reading is this: Change arising from inner wisdom far outweighs any brought by destruction. A greater good is at stake and when the fire dies back and the smoke clears, a new tower will emerge, one built from love and understanding. All that the so-called new guy wishes would remain hidden will be revealed for all to see ~ an Emperor wearing no clothes, his countenance ugly and profane, hidden no more, his Russian allies nowhere to be seen.

Blessed Be
