Deception From Energy Vampires: An Empath’s Struggle ~ Tarot for 6 June 2017

Deception From Energy Vampires: An Empath's Struggle ~ Tarot for 6 June 2017

I’ve been experiencing some panic attacks lately due to the antics of a handful of manipulative people. It’s one of the downsides of being an empath and has nothing to do with any fear on my part. It’s just an empathic awareness that becomes so overwhelming that panic results. When people seek to deceive, I experience their thought process, their intention, their choices, and the energy associated with all of it in one fell swoop. It’s not that I’m afraid of any of them because they’re far too silly for that, but that their deception is so great that it has taken on a momentum all of its own and feeling all of it as I do, a panic attack results.

Deception is emotion-based. Someone wants something so much that they’ll do anything to achieve it including deceiving others. Empaths are like lightning rods for such machinations, typically becoming hyper-alert when deceptive energy comes close. My physical response is usually commensurate with the level of deception, so when it’s a panic attack, it tells me that someone is either really intent on getting what he wants or that he has assistance. In this case, it feels like both. At the end of the day, nothing will ever come of the deception or the game that’s played, but it makes things uncomfortable nonetheless.

Normally I look at daily influences instead of at specific questions when I look at the cards, but with what I’ve been experiencing, I decided to ask for clarity and for help in remaining calm and I found it prescient when I drew both Swords and Cups for the tarot reading. The 7 of Swords, Daughter of Cups, and the 2 of Cups are the cards I drew with an overall numerology of 9 or completion and alignment. Somehow I knew that would be the case.

Beginning with the 7 of Swords, six black swords are suspended in the air above a fox curled up over the seventh suggesting separate agendas are in play. He sleeps with one eye open, aware that all is not as it seems. It’s time to tread carefully until a clearer picture is possible, staying in observation mode only. Envy and jealousy are at the root of the deception that’s occurring and the best thing I can do at this point is to not create any thought channels toward that emotional vibration. Otherwise, it’s easy to absorb that emotion with my panic attacks the end result.

I must confess to finding Court Card annoying so I appreciate Kim Krans’s animal depictions instead of people. She uses snakes in the suit of Wands, swans with Cups, Owls with Swords, and deer with Pentacles. The Daughter of Cups (the Princess or Page in other decks) depicts a baby swan or cygnet peacefully floating on the water. Rainbow colors spill before her, reflecting emotions in balance. She remains in her bliss, unaffected by the world around her as she floats peacefully about. Her youth suggests undeveloped potential, imagination, and intuition as well as positive messages and new experiences.

The 2 of Cups is beautiful in any deck, but the simplicity of this card is striking. And I have to say that I love the directionality of the backgrounds in Krans’s cards. This one feels like a night sky with stars in motion. Beneath the starfield stands two cups with two red roses standing overtop in a crossed fashion. A unity of polarity is felt with this card, perhaps the unity or balance between intellect and emotions. Additionally, the card suggests harmony and partnership, the crossed roses depicting a strong connection. Normally, I would interpret the 2 of Cups in terms of a relationship between two people, but with respect to my empathic-driven panic attacks, this is about alignment within. Empaths pay too much attention to the goings-on around us creating all sorts of headaches for ourselves in the process when we can’t stay in observation mode. In other words, we have a tough time minding our own business because everything is so interesting.

In a sense, what I’m experiencing is vampiric energy and since witches don’t suffer fools well, I’m not sitting still for it. I’m honest and that bothers people. It’s both a witch and empath thing, but truth-telling comes with the territory, and there’s nothing I care to do about it even if I could. I have the Left-Angled Cross of the Clarion in my Human Design chart, which should explain all of it as well as the Christ Consciousness Field for my godhead. So they might as well just stop now because I’ll always be one step ahead of them.

But in the meantime, the answer lies with that adorable baby swan, floating about in her own bliss, focused on the present moment. This is alignment in its purest form, expressing the full truth of as above, so below. Because if we think about it, the expression isn’t as below, so above. We express ourselves as the Creator into the form that each of us takes. The trick of it is to not forget who we actually are as the Creator personified. And yet we do just that, absorbing the negative vibrations that seem to hold the physical world together. But that’s an illusion as well because we choose at every moment the experience we wish to have. Focus on something negative, and we create a thought channel or pathway to that negative situation, oftentimes unable to find our release. So, we visit it again and again and soon it dominates our awareness. We take up residence in the past instead of continuing to create the experience we wish to have, placing our emotional balance at certain risk.

I found relief from the situation by pulling weeds in the garden, my bliss evidently found there. Their screwy vibration still taps me on the shoulder but at least I’m no longer having panic attacks. So either their own focus is waning, or I’ve been successful in shutting down their vampiric asses.

But if not, it’s not as if I’m without options.

A Circle Of Protection To Bind Their Fate

A Circle of Protection To Bind Their Fate

Protection can take many forms. It can be defensive or offensive in nature as with martial arts, or it can be born of inner awareness. Rune magick is a method of bringing runic influences together in sigil form for a specific purpose. It can be divination-oriented, or it can bring about a change of some kind. I use sigils in general because they represent a focused intention. I like how they organize my thoughts around whatever situation I’m concerned with. Lately, my thoughts have been on protection.

I was listening to a woman speak today on a podcast who was talking about how unsustainable it is to provide financial assistance to people in our country. She had a Darwinian bent and appeared to believe that survival of the fittest was the best way to solve our problems. I don’t share her premise or perspective because I know that we’re one collective consciousness and how we live should reflect that truth.

It would be like expecting each cell in our bodies to survive on its own without the integration required so that our bodies exist and function properly. The same concept is true in a bee colony. I’m someone who is kept by bees. I’d say I’m a beekeeper, but bees don’t need a keeper so it feels odd to call myself that. Anyway, the hive wouldn’t survive long if a survival of the fittest attitude swept the colony. Then they probably would need a keeper. You know, like the so-called new guy seems to need.

Today’s runecasting centers around protection. But it doesn’t necessarily reflect the intention of protection against something or someone. Sometimes our greatest protection involves how we interpret what’s happening around us. As A Course in Miracles tells us, we give everything we see the meaning it has. Now the bulk of humanity may agree with our assessment, but we’re still giving everything we experience the meaning it has.

If we can look dispassionately at situations that are concerning, then we’re better able to view them with more clarity than when we’re caught up in our reactions to whatever is occurring. So in a real sense, protection should also involve our choice of reaction.

Additionally, our state of mind, be it loving or not, should also influence our feeling of protection, again reflecting that dispassionate view that helps keep us centered and aligned. So when I was looking at some bindrunes I’ve created over the last few months, I selected those that protected, aligned, extended love, and invoked a centered and unified presence to surround today’s runecasting creating a greater a circle of protection to support its message.

Othala, Gebo, and Hagalaz are today’s runes and bring influences of our Akash and ancestral heritage, balanced energy exchange, and then a little destruction in preparation for impending change with some hawthorn twigs rounding out the protection influences. Othala represents our collective nature, both in physical and nonphysical form. It asserts that our greatest achievements are accomplished together, Darwin be damned.

Moving deocil around spread, the witch invokes change and Hagalaz as the witch rune accomplishes this task. It provides the balanced structure necessary for positive change to unfold and provides blessings to speed the process.

Gebo reflects both inner and outer balance and teaches us to live in harmony with each other. Again, Darwin’s not finding a home here. Using the example of our bodies again, when the body is not in balance then disease or ill health results. If the imbalance is left unchecked, the body may not survive. It’s the same with humanity. We won’t survive if we don’t bring our polarities back into balance. The masculine has run amok and the feminine has had enough. The answer is a more balanced approach but the masculine energy disagrees and here we are now, in need of some protection.

But we don’t need a savior, even if he’s back from vacation. We need clarity. We need truth. And when we have that, the answers will be clear. But until that happens, we need to remain as aligned as possible in Higher Self awareness, viewing what’s unfolding with discernment, taking a dispassionate stance.

Disinformation and distraction seem to be the mantra of the new regime. But in time the proverbial man behind the curtain will be revealed and then heads will roll, the circle of protection binding their fate. We’re being shown a future that few anticipated or wanted. A country reflects everyone within. The people make up its heart and vitality, its blood supply extending life to all.

We’re not a business decision, a deal to be made, or a company to be closed. We’re the very life force without which this country would not even exist and we have always been more than the sum of our parts. We cannot be dismissed as irrelevant because we most certainly are not.

We see you, in all your predatory ugliness. We know what you’re doing and you’re not going to get away with it. You believe you can strip mine us into oblivion all while making a buck off of the deal.

But then you’re a fool.

You’ll create a mess that you won’t be able to clean up. But don’t worry. The rest of us, in our unity of purpose, in the protection of all that we have co-created together, will be happy to do that for you.

Protection Magick with Mjolnir ~ Runecasting for 12 April 2017

Protection Magick with Mjolnir ~ Runecasting for 12 April 2017

Thor’s Hammer, Mjolnir, offers the basis for today’s runecasting and bindrune for strength and protection. The sky around my home has been filled with the sounds of fighter jets over the past couple of days and with the new guy in charge, it’s anyone’s guess what this is about. But it can’t be good. Even during the Iraq war, we didn’t experience this, so I decided a bindrune would be in order.

After bringing my energy back into alignment, I drew five runes, placing them in the shape of Mjolnir, a symbol that now represents Asatru. I have Druid heritage and I find anything related to that practice fascinating and for some reason, I’ve been laying out both runes and tarot cards in this same design. It’s clear to me that difficulties lie ahead and protection will be necessary.

I began drawing the lower three runes, Laguz, Wunjo, and Ansuz followed by Uruz in the center, and then Eihwaz at the top. Our strength and power are best derived from a balance between physical and nonphysical aspects of self. The outside lower runes represent influences which are receptive and projective in nature, with their state of balance in the center. The top rune reflects Higher Self influences while the center rune manifests that unified presence into form. Together the runes cast combine to influence the strength and power of Mjolnir assisting us to not only stand in our own power but to also support us when speaking truth to power itself.

Beginning at the top with the thirteenth rune of the Elder Futhark, Eihwaz, as the rune of paradox, this rune of Fire and Air connects the physical and nonphysical aspects of Self. Representing the power and strength of the Yew tree, Eihwaz protects and removes obstacles from our path and prevents self-destructive behavior.

The strength of aurochs influences as the second rune of the Elder Futhark, Uruz, appears in the center of the runecasting. A Water element rune, Uruz represents an archetypal pattern of creation as its horns point downward in the manifestation of form. Like Eihwaz, Uruz increases both inner and outer strength and courage, but with this rune, the force of will is involved.

Laguz appears in the receptive or feminine influence position of the lower three runes. Another rune of elemental Water, Laguz purifies and cleanses our Spirit increasing our clairsentience and life force. As the rune of the occult, it influences our intuition and empathic awareness and brings awareness of the cyclical nature of life. One of the runes associated with witches, Laguz can assist in accessing the nonphysical realm and drawing down Moon energy. It can be used to gather and invoke magickal energy and intention and helps us maintain an emotional balance.

Moving past the center lower rune, Ansuz, the fourth rune of the Elder Futhark represents the projective/masculine influence of the runecasting. Considered the rune of Odin, Ansuz represents the mind and mouthpiece of a god, therefore the Air element. But in truth, the only god exists within, so Ansuz is the rune that we use to align with or channel the Higher Self. Spiritual awakening is a proactive process, one that each of us feels compelled to experience. It’s the natural order of things and Ansuz brings us clarity.

Wunjo holds the receptive and projective side of Self in balance. The eighth rune of the Elder Futhark, this Earth element rune grounds us in harmony and joy. It represents fellowship, peace and conscious interaction with others. As the happily ever after rune, Wunjo expresses its power by granting wishes, and bringing success, happiness, and fulfillment.

Bindrunes are a form of rune magick whereby various runes are drawn or selected from a bag, arranged together in a sigil, and then blessed and consecrated for a specific purpose, in this case, protection magick. Occasionally I select runes for a bindrune but typically I allow the runes to appear as they will. Each rune has its own vibrational resonance and they’ve never steered me wrong so I let the runes guide the magickal working.

For this protection bindrune, Eihwaz establishes the connection between physical and nonphysical aspects of Self, providing the essential structure of the intention. From there, Uruz manifests Spirit into form allowing the strength and protection of unified presence to sustain our will. Wunjo holds our receptive and projective aspects of self in harmony and balance. With our emotions and intellect in balance, we derive our power and strength from clarity and vision instead of through arrogance and control.

The unspoken presence in the runecasting is Thurisaz, the rune that actually represents Mjolnir. Its catalytic energy protects and defends, breaking through difficult situations with ease. Thurisaz both stimulates change and prevents situations from becoming out-of-control. The power of Thor’s Hammer turns things around, creating new beginnings, but as the Thorn, it can also cause great destruction. Used wisely and with clarity, however, it serves a higher purpose and why I chose its symbol for the shape and intention of the runecasting.

Vulnerability is difficult to experience particularly when solutions aren’t easily found and all we can do is stand in witness. A feeling of protection empowers us to speak our truth, to stand in our own power, and to rise up on behalf of others. Using the bindrune at the top of the runecasting as a talisman or in ritual creates a focus for protection as we align and draw strength from the Unified Presence, extending that blessing to all.

Protection Rune Magick

Rune Magick for Protection

Our brothers and sisters in the Oroville, California area have evacuated their homes due to a break in a spillway at the Oroville dam, so I thought some protection rune magick might be in order. My husband and I spent the first part of December in Clearlake and although it’s closer to the coast than Oroville, driving through California was so lovely and our hearts go out to everyone affected by this disaster.

Bindrunes are a form of rune magick whereby runes cast are arranged in a meaningful fashion. After aligning in Source Presence, I pose a question or think about a situation or individual and then reach into my rune bag and begin moving my hand through the runes, allowing them to fall through my fingers. Eventually, only one rune remains in my hand and I place it on the altar. I repeat the process until I feel I have enough runes, typically no more than five are used.

As I cast the runes a pattern emerges for the bindrune and today’s runecasting was no different. The first rune cast was Laguz. A rune of Elemental Water, Laguz sets the reason for the bindrune, in this case, excess water. With this rune, we cast our intention for additional protection and increased magickal energy and will.

Moving deocil, the next rune in the runecasting is Gebo, another Water rune. Again, as with LaguzGebo increases magickal power and creates balance. Gebo also indicates partnership and generous exchange with others, bringing equilibrium to the situation.

Next is Othala or the rune of sacred spaced and homeland. It represents peace, security, and protection of hearth and home. The greater community at large is felt with this rune and given the extreme nature of this disaster, the sacred space of the community is threatened.

In the final position, Wunjo as the wish rune brings success and fulfillment to the bindrune. Joyful contact with others is influenced by this rune suggesting that this tragedy will bring people together in unity of purpose to renew and restore not just the land but relationships as well.

It’s said that Othala contains all runes within. Some runecasters place Othala at the end of the Elder Futhark, but I prefer that Dagaz occupy that position. Complete enlightenment seems more fitting than the rune of the Akash, although the argument could be made for either viewpoint. In creating the bindrune, I used Othala as the foundation and then drew Laguz so that Wunjo was also created. Gebo is contained within Othala, so I left that alone. The completed bindrune appears in the center of the other runes.

The numerology of the bindrune is 5 suggesting change which is definitely in store for the Oroville area. And with the bindrune created, I cast the intention of protection for all as well as for the sacred space in which they live.

Blessings to all during this difficult time.

A Protection Spell..Because Evidently We Need One

Protection Bindrune

So I thought I’d post a protection spell and illustrate how I created it. Witches use elemental correspondences along with moon phase, day and time to craft a spell. The idea is to align energies to increase the intention of a spell. But first the witch must decide the spell’s purpose. We’ve had some upset in the world over the last few days and I thought we all needed some protection because we don’t know what’s ahead of us. Spells don’t have to include such specificity, but given the travesty we all just experienced, I thought it would be best to throw at it everything I could think of.

Now that we know the type of spell we wish to cast, we need to decide when we’re going to perform it. I initially look at the phase of Moon that represents what we’re trying to accomplish. For serious protection matters, I like to perform the spell on the Dark Moon. Looking at the calendar, the next Dark (New) Moon is on November 29th. It’s in Sagittarius, bringing an influence of higher purpose to the spell. From there, we need to find out when sunrise and sunset occurs on that day as well as when sunrise happens again on the following day.

planetary hours tableIn this case, sunrise occurs on the 29th at 7:21 am, with sunset at 4:25 pm. The sun rises again at 7:22 am on the following day. At this point we need to do some math and figure out how many minutes comprise the time between sunrise and sunset to begin to fill out our sunrise table. Then we do the same for the sunset table only this time using the sunset time from the first day and the sunrise time from the next.

There are 9 hours and 4 minutes during the sunrise hours on the day of the Dark Moon. As we all know from grade school math, there are 60 minutes to an hour, so we multiply 60 by 9 and then add 4 to reach 544 minutes. From there, we divide 544 by 12 and we arrive at 45.3333 which I reduce to 45. It won’t be exact because I’m not using the .3333 but these are desperate times and Goddess isn’t a stickler for such things.

Now we can begin our table with 7:21 am as the beginning number. Adding 45 to each successive time will complete the sunrise table. But we’re not done because we have to do the same with the sunset table. Using 4:25 pm as sunset and 7:22 am on the following day as sunrise, we arrive at 14 hours and 56 minutes. Multiplying 14 by 60 gets us 840 plus 56 gives us 896 minutes. Divide that by 12 and we arrive at 74.6666 minutes which I round up to 75. Beginning the table with 4:25 pm as the first hour of sunset, I added 75 minutes to each successive hour to complete the table.

The Chaldean Order of Planets are used in this table. It’s a fixed thing and you’re welcome to copy it from this post if you don’t already have your own copy of it. The only thing that changes are the hours. Everything else stays the same. But the idea is to familiarize yourself with planetary influences so that you can choose the one you think will energetically support your spell. In this particular case, however, the day itself drives the planetary selection. You find it in the table and next look at the time associated with that planet. That’s the hour you’ll choose to perform your spell.

November 29th happens to be a Tuesday, which is fortuitous for protection spells. Mars is the planet associated with Tuesday, so I looked up the times for Tuesday that correspond with Mars. 7:21 am, 12:36 pm, and 6:55 pm. The other time falls at 3:40 am on the next day, so I won’t be considering that one. Mars gives the spell the boost of energy it needs to have its highest impact which is exactly what we need about now. Since the 6:00 hour is positive for safety and protection, I’m going to perform the spell using the 6:55 pm time. It will no doubt continue into the 7 pm hour which reflects healing our differences and care for others. We need that influence as well.

So now that we know the day and time of the spell, we need to put together all of the additional energetic influences that bring synergy to the spell. I’ll add some Fire Element crystal correspondences to the altar or workspace including bloodstone and carnelian, maybe a little amethyst for spirituality and connection with Source Presence. Red and black candles will also be placed on the altar with the bindrune I’ve created for this spell engraved on each one. Herbs for incense include cinnamon, garlic, nettle, hawthorn, and basil. Resins include copal and juniper. After engraving the bindrune in basil oil, I’ll annoint the candles.

A small cauldron will be used to burn the incense and the runes Thurisaz, Sowilo, Hagalaz, Isa, and Dagaz from the Elder Futhark will be used for the bindrune. I chose to make my bindrune ahead of time, burning it into a round piece of juniper for use on the altar. I’ll be consecrating it, however, during the magickal working to increase it’s alignment effect by aligning myself with Source Presence during the consecration.

So now we have everything we need to perform the spell. I begin by aligning with Goddess Presence by Blessing the Norns of Fate:

  • Face East and cast a circle or create sacred space
  • Hands out in supplication, visualize three white orbs of lights above your head and say: Dea
  • As the center orb moves through you, downward into blessed Earth say: Beo existere, Verdandi… Isa
  • As the second orb moves through you, observe it as it moves downward and to the right and say: Beo existere, Skuld… Nauthiz
  • As the third orb moves through you, observe it as it moves downward and to the left and say: Beo existere, Urdh… Hagalaz
  • With your hands remaining up and out in supplication and say:
  • Veritas revelat (reveal truth)
  • Salva veritate (truth preserved)
  • En statera (in balance) ¹

Next, I perform the Pentagrams of Protection:

  • Still facing East, draw a silver and blue flaming pentagram with your projective hand, wand, or athame. Point to the middle and say: Dea Aradia… erigo navitas (raise energy)
  • Moving deocil to the South and visualizing a blue line of fire from one direction to the other, draw a silver and blue flaming pentagram with your projective hand, wand, or athame. Point to the middle and say: Dea Brigid… erigo navitas
  • Moving deocil to the West and visualizing a blue line of fire from one direction to the other, draw a silver and blue flaming pentagram with your projective hand, wand, or athame. Point to the middle and say: Dea Tiamat… erigo navitas
  • Moving deocil to the North and visualizing a blue line of fire from one direction to the other, draw a silver and blue flaming pentagram with your projective hand, wand, or athame. Point to the middle and say: Dea Elen… erigo navitas
  • Returning to face East, say:
  • Coram animus imperium (Before me the powers of Elemental Air)
  • Tergo aqua imperium (Behind me the powers of Elemental Water)
  • Dextera incendium imperium (To my right the powers of Elemental Fire)
  • Laetrosum terrenus imperium (To my left the powers of Elemental Earth)
  • Cinctus excandesco stellae (About me flame the pentagrams)
  • Voluntate servavit et Dea benedictus (My will preserved and Goddess Blessed)
  • Close by repeating the Blessings of The Norns²

protection bindruneOkay. Now that we’ve cast our circle or created our sacred space, blessed the Norns and asked for the Goddess to protect us, it’s time to light the charcoal in the cauldron. While the charcoal is heating up, I’ll carve the bindrune into the red and black candles and then dress each with basil oil. Place cinnamon, garlic powder, nettle, hawthorn, and basil along with copal and juniper resins into a mortar and begin grinding deocil, then drawing each rune in the herbs while chanting three times:

  • Thurisaz veritas revelat (Thurisaz reveals truth)
  • Hagalaz cessat actio (Hagalaz ceases the unwanted action)
  • Sowilo removet claustra (Sowilo removes all barriers)
  • Isa coalescit (Isa coalesces)
  • Dagaz en statera (Dagaz brings balance)

The intention set forth by the chant is to reveal truth, interrupt behavior, remove all barriers to harmony, coalesce the intention into reality, as we remain always enlightened and in balance. So after the chanting and grinding of the herbs, I place the mixture in pinches onto the burning charcoal in the cauldron and repeat the above chant again three times letting Elemental Fire catalyze my intention, Elemental Air sending my intention to the universe.

The last portion of the spell includes consecrating the bindrune. I created a nicer one as an altar tile for future magickal workings and that’s the one I’ll consecrate. In alignment with Source Presence, I’m able to focus that aligned energy into the bindrune itself, consecrating and catalyzing its power. This consecration is not in Latin, however.

Holding my hand over the bindrune, I say:

  • I bind these runes
  • Blending energies within
  • Bringing balance without
  • Infused with immanence
  • I bless and consecrate this sigil
  • In alignment with Source Presence

After consecrating the new bindrune, I’ll repeat the original chant three times, holding my hand over the bindrune. In total, I will have repeated the chant nine times. Nine is the number for completion and also corresponds to Mars and Elemental Fire.

At this point, I’ll raise my hands in supplication and thank the Goddesses for their protection during the ritual and in the days to come. And to the Norns of Fate I’ll place my trust in their capable hands.

To close this spell of protection say:

  • I am She Who Creates
  • I am She Who Loves
  • I am She Who Manifests
  • My will preserved and Goddess Blessed
  • I am So Blessed Be

Lastly, I’ll have a nice cup of tea confident in the spell’s successful outcome. Difficult times may be ahead for many of us. We’ll need all the strength we can muster to stay aligned and safe. The witch stands as observer, acting only when hearth and home are threatened. That time has come. If we come together on the Dark Moon and work our spells in unison, irrespective if it’s this one or another that speaks to you, our effect will be at its most powerful.

Join me. We’ve got this!

Blessed Be.
