Dark Moon Rune and Tarot ~ 23 June 2017

Dark Moon Rune and Tarot ~ 23 June 2017

Some people begin the new month at the beginning of each month; I begin mine on the New or Dark Moon. Magicks of decrease, banishing, intuition, and dark power are worked at this time. I also like to do a full rune and tarot reading to see what I should pay attention to during the coming month. Two cards from the Major Arcana, The Lovers and The Star, along with the 4 of Wands comprise the tarot portion of the reading while Tiwaz, Raidho, and Othala are the runes. The numerology of the cards is 9 and for the runes the overall numerology is 1. Together, they both reduce to 1 or wholeness and new beginnings. So there’s some synchronicity between the numerology and the fact that it’s a new moon. The moon happens to be in Cancer, so home and health issues are favored.

I created a bindrune from the runes for soul journeying allowing for an unfettered experience. We become too focused and stuck in our experiences believing in their reality instead of the illusion that they are. Ours is not a journey to salvation, but one of remembrance. Tiwaz deals with justice and sacrifice along with an expression of higher ideals. Raidho represents our soul’s journey through life, stressing the process over the goal. It also directs energy for a specific purpose and helps us attune to Higher Self presence. Finally, Othala represents our Akash and is known as the rune of sacred space. The remembrance we seek is of who we are as the Creator personified, with sacred space existing anywhere that we are. The bindrune can be carried as a talisman or placed on the altar during ritual in remembrance of who we are. We are beings of light and should live in unfettered joy. It’s our Othala, our sacred space as well as our birthright.

Looking at the cards, The Lovers describes the balance between our receptive and projective aspects of self, represented by two geese flying in harmony while the sun’s rays radiate around them, the rays reflecting balanced elemental energies. The 4 of Wands also reflects balance as well as respite. Behind the crude wands in a balanced pattern, energies expand in all directions, contained by the angled lines that frame the scene. Much is happening while we find our focus. Lastly, The Star extends its blessings downward into creation indicating positive experiences are in store. A new day is dawning, one replacing all illusion with complete clarity and vision. Our perspective is changing and we’re less likely now to accept a life out of balance.

With all the chaos that’s going on our government, we need to stay focused on our own creative presence. It’s fine to keep one eye on the nonsense because the fallout is severe if we don’t. But at the end of the day, we have to go on with our lives. The fear created by this guy will only interfere with our soul’s journey and that’s the last thing any of us needs.

It’s only a matter of time until he’s gone. Until then, breathe.

Blessed Be

Strength From Unified Presence ~ Rune and Tarot for 15 June 2017

Strength From Unified Presence ~ Rune and Tarot for 15 June 2017

Strength from unifed presence is what comes to mind as I look at today’s tarot and runecasting. 13 represents the numerology for the tarot cards. I can also reduce that to 4 but I prefer to consider 13 as a Master Witch number. The numerology of the runes reduces to 3, or unification and wholeness and together with the tarot numerology, the overall numerology for the combined reading is 7, or divinity and intuition. 7 also happens to be a number that represents magick.

Two cards from the Major Arcana along with one from the suit of Cups comprise the tarot portion of the reading. The Empress, the 6 of Cups, and The Emperor create a lovely balance with the result of their union represented by the 6 of Cups in the center with its multicolored roots extending in an as above so below manner. Cups represents Elemental Water and our emotional presence, our intuition, and relationships with others. Its direction is West and is represented by the chalice or cauldron signifying receptivity and fertility, as it transmutes Air and Fire into form.

Mannaz, Raidho, and Perthro are today’s runes representing Earth, Air, and Water elements respectively and support the interplay between The Empress and her consort, The Emperor. Take notice of their order in the deck. She appears first and from her flows the entirety of creation signifying her greater importance, the current patriarchy having no place in the equation.

Looking at The Empress and Mannaz first, we see a beautiful white pink-tipped tree with a crescent moon in the night sky above. The Empress represents love, beauty, abundance, and happiness. She is the Goddess in her Mother Aspect, receptive and fertile, and the essence of feminine creativity and the subconscious realm. Mannaz brings into the reading the influence of mankind’s fragility. In disunity, our partnership is threatened, with Mannaz encouraging us to seek assistance from others, understanding that we are part of a greater consciousness with harmony our fundamental goal.

Raidho and the 6 of Cups both discuss the journey we take in form, Raidho signifying harmony and right purpose, the 6 of Cups denoting family and fulfillment. The Wild Unknown Tarot uses animals and trees in its depictions and in the 6 of Cups we see an as above so below expression with the tree above and its massive root system below. Positioned between The Empress and The Emperor, the card reflects all that they create together in balanced unified presence. Raidho indicates rhythmic motion in partnership with others, attuned to a higher purpose.

Finally, The Emperor stands tall representing structure and leadership. Fatherhood and the conscious realm along with benevolence and stability are among this card’s influences. He provides a certain kind of balance to The Empress although without her he would not exist. Boundaries, protection, and order are felt with The Emperor as he assists The Empress in providing the structure for success. Perthro represents the mystery of fate and is thought of as the childbirth rune. Perthro points to correct action, something The Emperor needs to stay in balance. Healing and understanding are among Perthro’s influences and provide The Emperor with a window into the unknown.

Our strength is found in unified presence with the collective consciousness. We are not the bodies we inhabit but in fact, the Creator personified into form. While we understand the idea that our bodies have to work in harmony in order that we continue to live, we miss that application to humanity as a whole. In harmonious union with each other, our roots run deep and provide all the strength we need for an abundant experience.

While the future is unwritten, we instinctively know that in unity, our success is far more assured than when we’re at each others’ throats. It was nice to see both sides of the aisle come together after the shooting yesterday of a Republican Congressman, two Capitol Police officers, and a Lobbyist who were practicing for today’s game. Irrespective of our differences, it’s clear that the only thing to do now is to come together.

The insanity of this moment requires that we pause and remember that we’re one family, no matter how things have been between us of late. It’s time to remember who we are and let the strength of our love guide us forward.

Blessings to all!

Have We Had Enough Yet? ~ Tarot for 13/14 June 2017

Have We Had Enough Yet? ~ Tarot for 13/14 June 2017

Have we had enough of this crap yet? I drew some cards yesterday prior to the Sessions hearing but I didn’t get around to writing anything up until today, so I’ll interpret the reading as the influences surrounding that event. The overall numerology is 2 or balance, but given the reason for the hearing, it feels more like a decision between honesty and deception. Too much has happened and too many lies have been told and now it’s time for clarity, no matter what that is.

Beginning with the 4 of Pentacles, a balanced structure is represented assuring wealth and material gain. Our legacy of abundance and success is depicted by the lemniscate shapes joining each pentacle to the next, created by balanced effort. The negative side of the 4 of Pentacles arises when we hold on too tightly to our possessions or are unable to let go of what no longer serves.

The Empress is the only card from the Major Arcana that’s present in today’s reading. A beautiful card, the Wild Unknown Tarot depicts The Empress as a white tree with brilliant pink tips while a crescent moon rises in the night sky. The Empress represents the Goddess in her Mother aspect in all her elegance and grace, the essence of fertility and femininity. Both a receptive and creative presence, all life flows from the Great Mother.

Power and protection are depicted in the Mother of Wands by a snake coiled around her eggs, a crude stick ready to defend her brood. She alone stands ready to do whatever is necessary to protect her young with honor and integrity. She is determined and successful, adapting to situations as necessary to assure a successful outcome.

Three swords are bound by a red cord, blood dripping from their tips emerging from what appears like a black hole against a white background. The 3 of Swords often depicts a drama triangle or sorrow. This card, in the position of hidden influence, seems to suggest that we may be either bound by our own competing thoughts, or by the intentional distractions of others. Either way, clarity is available but somehow interfered with by self or others.

The 10 or Swords depicts ten black swords piercing and killing a bull. Ruin, betrayal, and the end of illusion are this card’s primary interpretations. We’ve gone as far as we can and a new approach is necessary. It’s the end of the road, and we’ve hit rock bottom.

Perfect love and perfect trust is an idea observed amongst witches. We perform rituals and spells that invoke perfect love and perfect trust as our foundation. With all the evidence that’s coming forward surrounding the truth of the last election, it’d be nice if we could all have that as our common goal. We need answers from the new guy and his minions, yet only dodges are forthcoming. They think they’re crafty, but as the rest of us watch and are affected by their continued deception, their time is coming to an end.

Mother of Wands is such a powerful card as it illustrates the power of women to guard our future. At least some of the senators interviewing Sessions sounded as fed up as the rest of us are with the endless dodging and weaving by people working in the current information who couldn’t answer a question in a straightforward manner to save their souls. Of course, the best one was Huckabee who believes the Attorney General is the President’s personal lawyer. He ran for President too. I guess these guys think they can write their own laws while they’re in office.

We evidently no longer share the same foundation in this country. The United States of America has become so divided that our future together is in doubt. The numerology of 2 not only indicates change but choice as well. We have a choice to make in this country to either come together and put an end to the deception surrounding our last election or we can continue as we are, at each others’ throats.

We must guard what we’ve built together and refuse to accept the continued deception by the new regime. The expressions of fealty from his cabinet the other day were sickening to watch. What’s wrong with these people? How could any of them choke out the words? This is not normal. This is not what happens in a democracy. We used to be able to depend on that, but now everything is upside down.

For whatever reason, the new guy is providing a catalyst for change. But the change he seeks will make us all the poorer while enrichening a few of his friends. They view him as someone they can use at the expense of the rest of us. We’ve gone as far as we can now. It’s time to put up or shut up and I’m not shutting up anytime soon.

What we’re experiencing is the last vestiges of patriarchy in all its ugliness and oppression. Mr. Sessions sat in his chair and refused to answer anything of substance, offering some sort of ridiculous notion that his boss might at some point claim executive privilege so he’s not saying a word and even giggled when Senator Kamala Harris was shut down during her questioning of him. Besides, to hear him tell it, how could anyone think he’d do anything treasonous to our country? Well, Mr. Sessions, you apparently lied during your confirmation hearing and now you want to blame Senator Franken for that lie. So while you think you’re a patriot, the jury is still out on that.

Blessed Be

In Peace Amid The Chaos ~ Tarot for 11 June 2017

I ordered a new Thoth Tarot deck, this one larger than the first one I bought. I typically use a magnifying glass when looking at the cards anyway, but the larger cards provide a better look at Lady Frieda Harris’s interpretations of Crowley’s work. From the colors used to the flow of the cards, her impressions bring forth an emotional resonance unlike any other deck I own.

Swords and Cups comprise today’s reading along with two cards from the Major Arcana as well as one Court card. The overall numerology is 5 or change. Elemental Air and Water are represented signifying our intellectual and emotional presence. The two cards from the suit of Swords involve the astrological sign of Libra, beginning with the 2 representing the Moon in Libra, and ending with the 3 representing Saturn in Libra, moving from peace to sorrow with a Knight and two Majors in between, a change of some kind possibly in awareness taking place.

I like the suit of Swords given that my astrological sign is Libra and because it represents balanced intellect and clarity. The 2 of Swords in the Thoth deck depicts two swords piercing a blue rose as they cross in balance. Two daggers appear above and below, one piercing an upward turned crescent moon, and the other the glyph for Libra. Four geometric symbols appear behind the sword suggesting an evolving intellectual process while angels in prayer adorn both swords’ hilts. The card’s title is Peace illustrated by the swords in balance. A decision has been made and peace and calm have returned.

A winged Knight bursts forth on a white steed holding a golden chalice with a crab balancing on its rim. A peacock appears on the right-hand corner of the card, its tail feathers extending out fully behind it. The Knight of Cups represents an individual who is both self-disciplined and a thrill-seeker. He can be loving and wise as well as insensitive and shallow. Somewhat passive-aggressive, the Knight’s vacillates between a focus on self and others, wishing to do the right thing, but at times becoming caught up in the drama of the moment finding it difficult to let go of what no longer serves.

Card nine from the Major Arcana, The Hermit represents Thoth, Hecate, and the Creator within. He stands on the mountain top in retreat from the world, receiving wisdom from the divinity we all possess within. In alignment, his light of wisdom extends to all.

In the position of hidden influence, The Fool stands ready to take the leap of faith into his journey through form. The Fool represents our infinite potential and the development of the individual through life. He has no expectations as he lives in the present moment, eagerly embracing the diversity of new experiences.

And then we come to the outcome card, the 3 of Swords. Crowley titles this card Sorrow as we see three swords tearing apart a rose, piercing its center. A serpent coils around the handle of the largest sword, offering the possibility of rebirth and renewal, yet the dark colors suggest a lack of clarity or confusion exists. A drama triangle may be represented but the chance of rebirth suggests an opportunity for clarity exists if we balance our intellect with our emotions. As the geometric shapes appear to break around the main sword, the scene suggests that in alignment, the deceptive agendas around us will fall away, replaced by understanding and substantially more dignity than when we began.

We each make a choice when incarnating to either live in service to self or in awareness of our greater unified presence. We make every attempt at living peacefully but occasionally others enter our lives providing a catalyst for something more interesting and at times, confounding and upsetting. Truth is like that. It may not always be pleasant, but it’s far better to live in truth than to continually be drawn into lies and deception.

If ego drives the human experience then the drama becomes real instead of something to merely observe and experience for the lessons it has to teach. The Hermit teaches us to see the world through a higher perspective, experiencing life without judgment. Remaining aligned amid the chaos of the world allows us to experience the world as observers instead of reactors.

We begin in peace and balance, but as time goes on, our innocence is threatened by the drama around us. Alignment in higher self-awareness assures peace amid the chaos as we calmly navigate our experiences irrespective of how emotionally charged they may be. Although the outcome of these experiences can certainly be sorrow, in alignment sorrow falls away, replaced by clarity and vision.

Deception From Energy Vampires: An Empath’s Struggle ~ Tarot for 6 June 2017

Deception From Energy Vampires: An Empath's Struggle ~ Tarot for 6 June 2017

I’ve been experiencing some panic attacks lately due to the antics of a handful of manipulative people. It’s one of the downsides of being an empath and has nothing to do with any fear on my part. It’s just an empathic awareness that becomes so overwhelming that panic results. When people seek to deceive, I experience their thought process, their intention, their choices, and the energy associated with all of it in one fell swoop. It’s not that I’m afraid of any of them because they’re far too silly for that, but that their deception is so great that it has taken on a momentum all of its own and feeling all of it as I do, a panic attack results.

Deception is emotion-based. Someone wants something so much that they’ll do anything to achieve it including deceiving others. Empaths are like lightning rods for such machinations, typically becoming hyper-alert when deceptive energy comes close. My physical response is usually commensurate with the level of deception, so when it’s a panic attack, it tells me that someone is either really intent on getting what he wants or that he has assistance. In this case, it feels like both. At the end of the day, nothing will ever come of the deception or the game that’s played, but it makes things uncomfortable nonetheless.

Normally I look at daily influences instead of at specific questions when I look at the cards, but with what I’ve been experiencing, I decided to ask for clarity and for help in remaining calm and I found it prescient when I drew both Swords and Cups for the tarot reading. The 7 of Swords, Daughter of Cups, and the 2 of Cups are the cards I drew with an overall numerology of 9 or completion and alignment. Somehow I knew that would be the case.

Beginning with the 7 of Swords, six black swords are suspended in the air above a fox curled up over the seventh suggesting separate agendas are in play. He sleeps with one eye open, aware that all is not as it seems. It’s time to tread carefully until a clearer picture is possible, staying in observation mode only. Envy and jealousy are at the root of the deception that’s occurring and the best thing I can do at this point is to not create any thought channels toward that emotional vibration. Otherwise, it’s easy to absorb that emotion with my panic attacks the end result.

I must confess to finding Court Card annoying so I appreciate Kim Krans’s animal depictions instead of people. She uses snakes in the suit of Wands, swans with Cups, Owls with Swords, and deer with Pentacles. The Daughter of Cups (the Princess or Page in other decks) depicts a baby swan or cygnet peacefully floating on the water. Rainbow colors spill before her, reflecting emotions in balance. She remains in her bliss, unaffected by the world around her as she floats peacefully about. Her youth suggests undeveloped potential, imagination, and intuition as well as positive messages and new experiences.

The 2 of Cups is beautiful in any deck, but the simplicity of this card is striking. And I have to say that I love the directionality of the backgrounds in Krans’s cards. This one feels like a night sky with stars in motion. Beneath the starfield stands two cups with two red roses standing overtop in a crossed fashion. A unity of polarity is felt with this card, perhaps the unity or balance between intellect and emotions. Additionally, the card suggests harmony and partnership, the crossed roses depicting a strong connection. Normally, I would interpret the 2 of Cups in terms of a relationship between two people, but with respect to my empathic-driven panic attacks, this is about alignment within. Empaths pay too much attention to the goings-on around us creating all sorts of headaches for ourselves in the process when we can’t stay in observation mode. In other words, we have a tough time minding our own business because everything is so interesting.

In a sense, what I’m experiencing is vampiric energy and since witches don’t suffer fools well, I’m not sitting still for it. I’m honest and that bothers people. It’s both a witch and empath thing, but truth-telling comes with the territory, and there’s nothing I care to do about it even if I could. I have the Left-Angled Cross of the Clarion in my Human Design chart, which should explain all of it as well as the Christ Consciousness Field for my godhead. So they might as well just stop now because I’ll always be one step ahead of them.

But in the meantime, the answer lies with that adorable baby swan, floating about in her own bliss, focused on the present moment. This is alignment in its purest form, expressing the full truth of as above, so below. Because if we think about it, the expression isn’t as below, so above. We express ourselves as the Creator into the form that each of us takes. The trick of it is to not forget who we actually are as the Creator personified. And yet we do just that, absorbing the negative vibrations that seem to hold the physical world together. But that’s an illusion as well because we choose at every moment the experience we wish to have. Focus on something negative, and we create a thought channel or pathway to that negative situation, oftentimes unable to find our release. So, we visit it again and again and soon it dominates our awareness. We take up residence in the past instead of continuing to create the experience we wish to have, placing our emotional balance at certain risk.

I found relief from the situation by pulling weeds in the garden, my bliss evidently found there. Their screwy vibration still taps me on the shoulder but at least I’m no longer having panic attacks. So either their own focus is waning, or I’ve been successful in shutting down their vampiric asses.

But if not, it’s not as if I’m without options.

Blessed Be

We Are Now And Forever One Family ~ Tarot for 6 June 2017

We Are Now And Forever One Family ~ Tarot for 6 June 2017

My new tarot deck arrived today. The Wild Unknown Tarot is designed and interpreted by Kim Krans and I happened upon it by accident. But I’m so happy that I did because her drawings are amazing. Her use of background lines creates a sense of flow similar to the Thoth tarot deck, and her use of animals instead of people brings a Spirit animal or Totem presence to the deck. It’s Shamanic and invokes an intuitive feeling.

Krans has reordered the Major Arcana in the same manner Crowley used in the Thoth deck and other than the Court Cards she keeps the same traditional titles. The Court cards are renamed Daughter, Son, Mother, and Father as in the Haindl tarot but again she uses animals in her depictions instead of people.

Today’s reading is comprised of two cards from Pentacles, one from Wands and Swords, and one card from the Major Arcana. Cups are absent and the overall numerology is 33 or the Master Teacher number for Christ Consciousness. If I reduce 33 to 6 (which I typically do not do) then it brings the influence of home, structure, and the sacredness of Higher Self consciousness into the reading.

Beginning with the 3 of Pentacles, a great mountain rises above three joined pentacles representing Fire, Air, and Water. Teamwork along with creative efforts foster material results and a solid foundation. Synthesis and growth stem from organization and focus.

Four pentagrams are linked together, working in concert toward a greater goal. The 4 of Pentacles illustrates wealth that’s building, a legacy based on material gain. The connectedness appears contained, which might suggest an unwillingness to extend that wealth to others, but most interpretations suggest a comfortable and solid financial foundation.

I love Krans’s drawing of the 10 of Wands. A bramble-like stand of barren brush stands ominously in front of a black background with light peeking through denoting difficulty but with new options on the horizon. The branches in disarray suggest many commitments along with oppression, possibly self-induced. We’ve gone as far as we can and irrespective of the situation, it’s time to move past perceived limitations to welcome new experiences.

Instead of an alchemist or an angel, Krans depicts Temperance as a great blue heron standing next to an alchemical blending of water and fire. Renewal, healing, and self-control are among Temperance’s interpretations along with purification and moderation. In the hidden influence position, Temperance is asking us to remain calm amidst the chaos.

In the outcome position, the 2 of Swords is beautiful regardless of the deck used. Typically a blindfolded woman is depicted holding two crossed swords, but in The Wild Unknown deck, a bright orange corona surrounds a dark sun appearing in the center of the crossed tips. Although deception and distraction may exist, a decision must be reached, with a more dispassionate viewpoint necessary to move on.

Life can be overwhelming. It always seems as if nonsense is behind every corner and we have to be savvy in order that we see beyond the bullshit. We know that together we can accomplish anything, but forces beyond our control turn everything upside down making clarity difficult at best. We also know that a calm demeanor gets us further than letting our emotions run amok.

I think it’s fairly clear now that our country is being scammed by the so-called new guy in the White House. Given all the information to date, it appears that we’re being collectively fleeced by this guy and his family. One of the more shameful reports I read about today involves making a buck off of charity money for children with cancer. Who are these people? Because it seems far more insidious than simply interference by Russia in our election. As bad as that is, I have a feeling that as more and more information comes out, the gravity of who they are and what they’re actually doing there will be more of a shock than those who voted for him can handle.

Not that anyone should care.

The histrionics and itchy tweeting fingers will be the so-called new guy’s undoing. Or perhaps as some have suggested it may start a war. Qatar has been tweeted under the bus and I wonder if he even knows that our Forward Central Command is located there. He’s easily led with no real foundation to judge anything by. Leaders with nefarious intentions will use him at our expense, leaving our country at such risk.

A decision must be made by all of us in complete clarity, ignoring the deception that inundates us daily. We must come together and kick these people to the curb before they destroy everything we’ve built. For all the change that was desired, was this really what those who voted for him expected? Did they think they’d lose their health insurance? Or did they believe this grifter hook, line, and sinker?

He used his supporters and the country, if not the world, is in jeopardy because of that usury. He never intended to live up to anything he promised, reciting The Snake at a rally to bring that truth home. Did his supporters even listen? Did they understand what he was telling them, essentially saying they knew he was a snake when they elected him? How could they not understand who he is when it was so obvious to the rest of us?

I earned a Black Belt in Kenpo Karate in 1991 and taught for several years in the school that my husband and I owned. Self-defense can take many forms including running away, blocking a punch following up with a strike or kick, or striking first when it’s evident that one’s attacker is telegraphing his assault. The other thing we can do is redirect the attacker’s assault, leaving him off-balance, gaining control over the situation. Why expend energy if we don’t have to? Instead, let the dumbass run about, exhausting himself while we play with him like a cat tormenting a mouse.

It’s beyond awful watching all of this unfold. We’re being given a birdseye view of the destructive effects of a white nationalist ideology where only the pure survive. And we simply cannot allow this to happen. As stressful as all of this is for most of us, we have to remain calm and centered or our efforts will be in vain.

Dear friends, we must collectively become the cat and observe our prey, pouncing when the time is just right, you know, like during the Comey hearing on Thursday. The new guy gives us everything we need and then some and his lack of impulse control will prevent him from saving his own ass while we stay in control, ready to clean up the mess when all is said and done.

The numerology provides the basis for our success. The new guy has spent his life detached from everything that the rest of the world experiences on a daily basis, extreme wealth his only teacher. 33 suggests that our Higher Self as our Master Teacher should inform our decisions instead of overreaction and tweeting everything from fake news to classified information as the new guy insists on doing.

The truth is, we are now and forever one family, no matter how these fools try to tear us apart. And we will be victorious in the end.

Blessed Be

In The Quiet Place Of Spirit ~ Tarot for 4 June 2017

In The Quiet Place Of Spirit ~ Tarot for 4 June 2017

Never let it be said that Aleister Crowley’s Thoth Tarot deck is cheery. Something tells me he was far too caught up in the negativity of the world at the expense of Spirit. Still, Lady Frieda Harris did his interpretations justice because her cards resonate with Elemental influences and her designs and color choices are stunning.

Today’s tarot reading begins with the Knight of Wands, the 7 of Swords, and Death in the general influences section, with the 6 of Disks in the position of hidden influence and the 3 of Swords as the outcome. Fire, Air, and Earth are represented with Water absent and the overall numerology of the reading is 11 or the Master number for illumination and our connection to the subconscious realm.

Cool. Inner work.

The Knight of Wands begins the reading illustrating a valiant Knight blazing into battle on his noble steed. His wand explodes with flames, his cape alive with energy and passion. The King in traditional decks, the Knight of Wands represents an individual full of generosity and optimism. Resolute and creative, the Knight excels at negotiation, transcending the mundane for more creative solutions. He is both a warrior who can be cruel as well as a mentor who can be supportive and loving.

Futility is the title of the 7 of Swords. Six swords point downward toward a larger sword which points upward toward the moon with planetary glyphs adorning each hilt. This card suggests that deception is occurring, either from others or possibly from the self. It encourages us to think outside the box and to understand that we give everything the meaning that it has. It’s easy to become confused when so much is coming in on us, but I don’t see futility as much as a need to look inward for answers.

Death is a busy card in the Thoth Tarot deck. The Grim Reaper with his scythe appears to dance a jig as he symbolizes rebirth and renewal. The snake and the lobster both indicate cycles of renewal and regeneration with new opportunities in store. Change and transformation are assured when Death appears. We’re to let go of what no longer serves clearing the way for a new outlook or new experiences.

Success is the title of the 6 of Disks and illustrates life in harmony. Abundance and fairness are expressed in the 6 of Disks. Six represents the sacred layer of the Higher Self, and the one thing we can depend upon. Irrespective of what’s going on in our lives, at our core, we are Spirit, our bodies only an illusion of form. We are forever and expression of the Creator, in harmony with both self and others.

And with the 3 of Swords, we’re back to Sorrow. Although I’m not fond of the shade of yellow used, I actually love how Lady Harris drew this card. Three swords pierce the center of a yellow flower telling us that the bloom is off the rose. But sorrow is a choice. In alignment, we remain unaffected by the chaos around us as we accept reality allowing the process to unfold as it will.

Tarot reminds us of the choices we can make to live in awareness of Spirit or to become caught up in the drama of form. All answers are found within, in the quiet place of Spirit, where we exist in unified presence with all. If we remain focused on drama then sorrow is surely what we’ll experience. Instead, we should remember that life is cyclical in nature and that rebirth and renewal are always possible. Our inner harmony is compromised when we lose focus. The key is in remembrance of who we are as Spirit. It’s not a place we return to, but one that exists eternally within.

Blessings to all!

As Above, So Below: Burning The Tower To The Ground ~ Tarot for 31 May 2017

As Above, So Below: Burning The Tower To The Ground ~ Tarot for 31 May 2017

Three cards from the Major Arcana appear in descending order in the primary influences area of today’s tarot reading. The Star, The Tower, and The Devil result in an overall numerology of 3 or Triple Aspects, unity, and wholeness. It’s an interesting pattern when one considers it from the perspective of as above so below with The Star representing above and The Devil  below. In the center, The Tower, represents catalytic change. It’s significant when a Major shows up but when three are influencing, then it’s time to sit up and take notice of their messages. Wands (Fire) and Swords (Air) are represented in the position of hidden influence as well as the outcome respectively. Absent from the reading are Pentacles (Earth) and Cups (Water) and the numerology for the entire reading with the addition of the unknown card’s value still remains at 3, or Triple Aspects.

The Star represents the Blessed Conduit between physical and nonphysical aspects of the Unified Self. She is our manifested dreams, our inspiration, filled with abundant spiritual gifts. Our visions are in play, our intuition intertwined with our healing. The Star provides the conduit for Spirit manifesting into form.

Next is The Tower, on fire as lightning continues its onslaught. Two figures appear to be falling to the choppy waters below as smoke billows around the tower. As devastating as it might seem, this card portends awakening and change for the better. Purification by fire, the energy for catalytic change, anything is possible as The Tower comes crashing down providing the space for change to take hold.

The Devil in any deck is interesting. In the Morgan Greer deck that I’m using today, we see a fierce expression on the goat’s face, his eyes yellow and intense. The pentagram points downward into form with a blue bee in its center. A candle is above, its flame pointing upward toward Spirit. The Devil represents materialism and our primal nature. It can suggest a misuse of power or a need to control others but at minimum it suggests that the ego may be controlling our choices.

In the position of hidden influence, the 9 of Wands reminds us to stand in our power and that we have more help available to us than we may realize. It suggests strength through adversity and determination to succeed. When people depicted the cards are looking either to the left or right it can suggest looking to the past or future respectively but in this case, it seems as if he’s standing guard, potentially walking back and forth in a protective stance.

The Knight of Swords, in the outcome position, reinforces the message of the 9 of Wands suggesting courage, integrity, and fearlessness. The Knight does what he believes is right and is unafraid of new experiences. He watches as The Tower burns, awaiting its destruction and rebirth, the fire’s glow reflecting in his gleaming sword. New ideas are forthcoming, in genesis as he waits for the smoke to clear.

We make the choice when incarnating to live in awareness of the greater unified presence or to retain a purely self-oriented focus. One usually turns out better than the other, but that’s a matter of perspective I suppose. Still, we must be ever mindful of what it is that we wish to manifest. Sometimes we need to see the effects of our choices, choosing a new approach if needed. The Star suggests balance and with the presence of both The Tower and The Devil, it may be that we’ve gotten off track and allowed our focus to be on the material side of Self to the exclusion of our spiritual nature.

Both the 9 of Wands and the Knight of Swords hold the key, at least in part, to all of this by implying that a balance between our catalytic and intellectual presence is needed. A self-oriented focus doesn’t always lend itself to compassionate behavior let alone integrity, but one that acknowledges and appreciates the greater unified presence sees the true value in acting with compassion and engaging with others with honesty and integrity.

The numerology is also relevant in that when we balance the chaos in our lives into an order reflecting a higher purpose, a sense of wholeness is achieved. The as above so below experience that balances both aspects of Self brings each one into unified presence with all.

I’ve been re-reading the Emerald Tablets of Thoth and throughout each of them the running theme is to know that we are each of the Light and to keep our focus there. The darkness is all too willing to influence but as Thoth counsels, it will never be successful in the end. Light will always win over the darkness and we are only ever one in the Creator. Each is an aspect of the Creator personified into form on a seemingly separate journey back to remembrance of Self.

Today’s tarot reading is telling us that in an effort to manifest our own as above so below experience, we’re to balance Spirit with form, in remembrance of who we are as the Creator. We are only here to experience life, not become so caught up in it that conflict becomes the norm. We’re not alone in this, part of the greater unified presence of the Creator. Instead of feeling separation from others, we should seek instead a life reflecting oneness with all.

Time to let go of the drama and watch The Tower burn to the ground.

Blessings!

Issues of Focus ~ Tarot for 24 May 2017

Whenever a pattern exists in a tarot reading, it’s best to take notice. In today’s reading. we have a run on twos, three of them in fact. Cups, Wands, and Swords are present representing Water, Fire, and Air respectively with Earth absent from today’s influences. The overall numerology of the reading is 11 or illumination and the subconscious suggesting that clarity is available if our focus is correct.

But we begin with the 5 of Cups depicting an individual bereft and unable to see past his emotional state. Five denotes change and clearly, a change in focus is needed. Five cups surround the robed man, three overturned and empty with the man seemingly unaware of the remaining two, still upright and capable of fulfillment. An arching bridge gives him access to the castle beyond the river if he could only see that it’s there but his focus is downward preventing clear sight.

Our first two, the 2 of Wands depicts a man holding a wand in one hand, a globe in the other, with another wand positioned to his rear. The man looks out over the land with the ocean beyond. The wands represent a doorway of sorts, with the globe suggesting that all options are available, his future as yet unwritten. This is the energy of balanced intention and of standing in one’s power.

Court cards are fun, aren’t they? The Page or Princess in other decks is thought to be the seeker or student, or perhaps a bearer of news. The promise of new experiences and opportunities are met with eagerness and joy by the Page of Wands as he goes forth broadening not only his horizons but his perspective as well.

A loving exchange is shared by a man and a woman in the 2 of Cups. Unity of polarities, partnership, and reconciliation is felt between the couple. The caduceus rises between the two lovers topped by a winged lion’s head supporting healing, strength, and courage. In the position of hidden influence, we’re reminded that there’s value in reciprocity with others. Reconciliation based on love and equanimity respects the positions of each individual valuing balanced interaction over control.

The outcome card is one of my favorite cards in any tarot deck. The 2 of Swords depicts a blindfolded woman sitting with her back to choppy waters, her arms crossed in front of her while holding two swords in balance. A crescent moon rises in the twilight sky adding to the mystery of the card.

She turns her back on the chaos and chooses the dispassionate view, preferring no judgment to one that chooses sides. Her decisions are informed by an inner voice instead of from reaction to the chaos surrounding her bringing us to the overall meaning of today’s tarot reading.

We give away our interpretation of the world to others, forgetting that how we see the world is a choice and not a given. Irrespective of the crappy way that others behave, we can choose a more neutral perspective instead of allowing the silly antics of others to knock us off our game. In reaction, others are in control. In observation, we remain in control. At some point, we have to let go of judgment and meet others half-way. It’s not that we accept nonsense from others, but that we realize that everyone is on their own path. Ours is a diverse unified presence and some of us are meant to serve as catalysts for the growth of others. The less we judge, the more we can get on with our own life instead of continually being caught up in the experiences of others.

It’s a focus issue that we have. Instead of creating our own experiences we rely on reaction to others, believing somehow that we’re in control when that’s sketchy at best. Today’s reading suggests illumination is found when we stay on our own path, guided by Higher Self awareness. And with the chaos that we experience everytime we watch the news, we’ll need as much illumination as we can achieve.

Blessed Be

Donald Needs A Tarot Reading ~ 22 May 2017

Donald Needs A Tarot Reading ~ 22 May 2017

Donald, it has to be said that Israel is in the Middle East. Why you don’t know that is beyond me. You’d think that some knowledge of geography would be required to hold the highest office in our country, but you seem to skate right by that. Anyway, since you clearly lack direction (pun intended because I’m a funny witch) I decided to do a tarot reading just for you. In fact, this might be a weekly occurrence, more if the situation warrants or if you begin wandering aimlessly.

Since you seemed to like that orb (I confess to some jealousy over that ~ witches do like shiny objects) tarot should be right up your alley. Look. I don’t like to judge, really I don’t, but you’ve got some interesting problems, not the least of which is what comes out of your mouth surpassed only by your lightning fast tweetstorms. You’ve certainly found a creative way to communicate with others. I mean, do you even sleep?

Anyway, the deck I’m using is the Robin Wood tarot deck. It has a pagan/witchy feel to it but it’s not as abstract as Aleister Crowley’s Thoth deck, my personal favorite, but I think you’ll like it. Didn’t I read that your mom was initiated as a Druid? Or was that fake news? I hope it’s true and if so, that’s so cool. I have Druid ancestry so I love that.

In case you’re unfamiliar with tarot, please bear with me if you are, the cards are arranged into sections referred to as Major and Minor Arcanas. The Major Arcana cards are also referred to as trumps, not after you so don’t get a swelled head about it, and they deal with soul archetypes. Yes, you have one, a soul that is.

By the way, the Creator is All That Is. Everything we see and experience, including our own physical reality, is an expression of the Creator, making our fundamental unity a collective vibration of Love. It’s just that when we live our lives here, some of us forget that fact. But more on that later. I usually do a wrap-up at the end of these things so sit tight. Which doesn’t mean that it’s your cue to begin tweeting.

The Minor Arcana is comprised of the small numbered cards and the Court cards. Again, not a nod to any delusions of kingship developing. The Ace of Swords begins the reading with an ornate sword pointing upward surrounded by garlands of white flowers spiraling in a double helix. The great sword of the Magus cuts through illusion, its brilliant countenance enabling full clarity. The Ace of Swords represents ideas emerging from Higher Consciousness. When in balance, our ideas spring from that state of alignment with Source Presence. When not, our ideas spring from our reactions to the world around us instead of from that inner presence within.

Sit with that for a bit. It’s important.

Moving on, there are four suits in tarot, each one corresponding to the four elements. Swords corresponds to Elemental Air (intellectual presence), Pentacles (the next card we’ll look at) corresponds with Earth (physical/material presence), Wands with Fire (catalytic presence), and Cups with Water (emotional presence).

The 5 of Pentacles is heartbreaking in this deck, isn’t it? Two wounded people remain bereft outside a church, snow beginning to fall around them. One individual appears to have lost part of a leg and it’s unclear if sight will return to his/her bandaged right eye. The other individual crouches near the ground trying to stay warm and dry. Neither seems interested in each other, both fully involved in their own sadness.

Moral of the story, Donald, shit happens in life that we’re not prepared for. And when it does, it can consume us. So maybe you should reconsider the whole ACA subsidy thing. We should have gone for single payer or Medicare for all, whatever folks want to call it, but life just works better when we don’t have to worry about whether or not we can see a doctor if we need to. Again, do your ideas manifest as reactions to what you see around you or do they manifest from a higher place of consciousness? The 5 of Pentacles is a window into the future of this country. You don’t make our country great by killing off its citizenry. Surely you can see that.

And now we come to The Fool, the card that begins the Major Arcana, and our journey through life. With his dog at his side, he plays a song on his flute as butterflies flutter about. All options are available to this new soul. Will he choose a life of service to self or a life in greater awareness of others? You can no doubt see the outcome of either choice.

And now we come to the wrap-up. I may get preachy.

It seems to me that the point of this reading is to suggest that you may want to reconsider your focus on destroying people’s lives. You can always make another choice, one that reflects a higher consciousness that I assure you is eagerly waiting to inform you of your true path forward.

Allow our unified presence to reach your awareness, it’s where you’ll find your purpose and that guidance will serve you well.

Allow the resonance of the Creator to fill you with such love and compassion that attending only to the needs of the wealthiest will be anathema to even consider.

It really would be your greatest win of all.

We’ll talk again soon.

Blessings!
