Interpretation

The structure of the shield chart lends itself well to a weekly interpretation. A quick look at the chart shows four sections comprising the top two sections leaving three below to represent the Right and Left Witnesses and the Judge or outcome of the reading. If the outcome isn’t clear at the end, we can combine the geomancy runes in sections one and fifteen to create a reconciler, in this case, Laetitia or joy. But let’s look at each week to see if we even need that.

Week One

  • Amissio (1) loss (Earth, Venus, Taurus)
  • Puella (2) fortunate, young girl (Air, Venus, Libra)
  • Tristitia (9) sadness, grief, evil (Earth, Saturn, Capricorn)

Venusian energy is present in both Puella and Amissio suggesting relationships are in play this week. Amissio’s energetic effect of Venus in Taurus suggests a need for reliability and security in relationships while Puella’s Venus in Libra effect involves the need for harmony and peace.

Tristitia may be describing grief or sadness surrounding a change in relationships this week with harmony and security our greatest concern. A measured and careful approach will be necessary to discover the real source of the problem as well as the solution.

Week Two

  • Tristitia (3) sadness, grief, evil (Earth, Saturn, Capricorn)
  • Acquisitio (4) gain, profit (Air, Jupiter, Aries)
  • Acquisitio (10) gain, profit (Air, Jupiter, Aries)

With Jupiter in the 10th House of career status all week, success may impact co-worker relationships this week if ambition overshadows integration with others. This is especially true if evil intent is at work to undermine or take credit for the shared efforts of all. A careful reassessment may be in order to bring to light any efforts to subvert a shared outcome.

Week Three

  • Fortuna Minor (5) lesser fortune (Fire, Sun, Taurus)
  • Tristitia (6) sadness, grief, evil (Earth, Saturn, Capricorn)
  • Puer (11) young boy, impulsive action (Fire, Mars, Aries)

Relationships are still of concern with Saturn in the 11th House of relationships this week aligning with the Sun in the 12th House suggesting reflection and reassessment of our relationships and with others. Again, career ambition may try to overshadow a shared outcome with Mars in the 10th House this week and affect harmonious relationships with co-workers. Success doesn’t necessarily happen in a vacuum and we would do well to remember that going forward.

Week Four

  • Fortuna Minor (7) lesser fortune (Fire, Sun, Taurus)
  • Caput Draconis (8) beginnings, present, future (Earth, North Node, Capricorn)
  • Puella (12) fortunate, young girl (Air, Venus, Libra)

With the Sun in the 11th House all week and the North Node in the 3rd House of communication, relationship concerns from last week may find a better balance or understanding this week as we reflect on how well we interact with others. It should be clear by now that vying for position or taking credit for group efforts will destroy trust between co-workers and impact results. In other words, drop resistance and become part of the team.

Right/Left Witnesses and the Judge

  • Rubeus (13) passion, evil (Water, Mars, Scorpio)
  • Conjunctio (14) joining, union (Air, Mercury, Virgo)
  • Albus (15) wisdom, sage (Air, Mercury, Gemini)

The 10th House of career status governs the final section of the shield chart during the fourth week of March reinforcing the idea that relationships on the work front are undergoing some sort of transition or renewal this month. Rubeus suggests that drama and vengeance may have impacted co-worker relationships to the point that fraud or subterfuge took place.

Years ago, I remember hearing about a situation involving two female co-workers in which one woman would look through the sales on the computer for the days she wasn’t scheduled to work and replace any sales she believed belonged to her with her own initials so that she would get credit for the sale as well as the higher paycheck at the end of the month.

Apparently, this was a common practice for this woman that had been going on for years. I know this because when I asked others who had worked with her about it they said she did the same thing to them. In fact, it became so bad that when a customer came in to buy something, the staff would tell them to come back the next day to make their purchase. She had caused so much consternation and animosity with her co-workers that no one wanted to work with her.

Anyway, complaints were ignored and when the business sold, the new owners decided in their infinite stupidity to suspend both women for a week or so in response to give the women a chance to cool off. It was fraud. Period. And the woman who did it should have been fired on the spot. But you can see how the predatory behavior of one entitled narcissistic individual can wreak havoc in a business.

However, it appears that with both unifying Conjunctio and wise Albus in play this month, particularly with Albus as the Judge/Outcome, we experience a transition away from a divisive approach to one of shared purpose. In other words, it looks like we may have figured out going forward in shared purpose is the better path than one that steps on others.

Until next month…

Blessings to all!
