Weekly Bindrune for 1-7 November 2020

With the election on Tuesday, having a bindrune that we can focus on can make all the difference in how we experience the week. Fear is in the hearts of so many as we wait for an outcome that will either secure our future or will likely destroy it. So, it seems to me that coming off the second Full Moon on Samhain, the first since 1944, some rune magick is in order.

Using my rowan runes, I set the intention to access the spiritual warrior within and align together in common or shared purpose and I began drawing runes, four in all, from my rune bag.

Thurisaz, Thor’s rune, came first to establish the protection we need followed by Wunjo and the fellowship to which we can finally return. From there, Mannaz was next. A complex rune containing Wunjo forward and reversed (and the next rune drawn), it acts as the binding effect for the bindrune, bringing all energies together in balance and aligning us in unified expression. Lastly, the friction within to accomplish our task is represented by the Norn rune, Nauthiz, tying everything together, like Mannaz, in common purpose.

We’ve lost so many of us over the last year to the virus and pandemic which the current occupant of the White House has neither the intelligence, desire, or wherewithal to contend with. It will take a new focus, a new plan, and a new administration to wrest control from a madman who was never going to save us. No, instead, he was only ever about himself and never about the country or the people themselves. It was instead a massive grift on the country and a sadistic willingness to harm everyone, particularly anyone who embraced the spiritual warrior within and stood up and spoke out.

Before creating the bindrune, I looked over the runes and saw the intensity of speaking truth to power, with eloquence and resolve. And in truth, in times of tyranny, our vote is all we have. It’s our greatest ability to demand change and once again, we find ourselves on the precipice of profound transformation. We see the problem and we know the solution. It’s now up to all of us to gather our wits about us and invoke our will to prevent any more damage and further harm or death.

I drew Mannaz as the foundation of the bindrune as it represents society. From there, Wunjo (forward and reversed) is visible in Mannaz, so I left it as it is to represent fellowship and then drew Nauthiz down the center to establish the friction within for unified expression. Lastly, I added Thurisaz for power to Nauthiz, connecting it to Mannaz to establish the integrative force of the bindrune. The bindrune appears below:

The bindrune is a gift to use for personal use only to carry with you throughout the week as a focus for transforming your interactions with others. It represents breaking through barriers that have kept us apart for too long and reestablishes the foundation of unified awareness.

The past four years were filled with deception and strife and now with the pandemic, we end it with the deaths of so many. Stay strong, stay aligned, and stay focused, and if you haven’t yet done so, please vote on Tuesday.
