Preparation, self-discipline, and compassion lead to our dreams becoming reality in today’s Thoth spread. Earth and Water Elements are represented as is one card from the Major Arcana. Disks, or Pentacles in other decks, represents our physical presence in the world. Cups, our emotional presence. The Trump card represents an archetype of becoming, one of the primary aspects of personality developed along the Fool’s journey.

From a numerology standpoint, the eight indicates evolution, balance, cause and effect as well as what challenges we face. Seventeen suggests illumination or meditation, allowing our immanence, or inner divinity to guide our way.

The 8 of Disks represents the ongoing process of life as we learn new skills in a balanced manner, making steady, careful progress. The Knight of Cups (King in other decks) represents Fire’s effects upon Water influences. It represents a wise, loving husband or father figure, a wise counselor, who exhibits focused self-discipline. He can also, if so afflicted, exhibit passive/aggressive tendencies as well as commitment issues. Together, the strong foundation and attention to detail brought by the 8 of Disks is well-supported by the self-discipline of the Knight of Cups, perhaps suggesting a student/mentor relationship of some kind.

The Star, one of my favorite cards regardless of decks, ends the spread as the Blessed Conduit. She provides insight, hope and inspiration, guiding us with optimism and selflessness toward our dreams becoming reality. Her energy flows joyfully unfettered by resistance. She simply allows.

Through steadfast discipline, we eliminate distractions, allowing our creative energy to flow freely into whatever endeavor we choose, confident in our skill and drive to accomplish anything. See everything in completion.

It’s a beautiful day as we reach for the stars!
