After spending a wonderful evening participating in the Coven Conversations, hosted by Sarah Durham Wilson from DoItGirl, I decided to look at runic influences that might be resonating. Again, the interaction between physical and nonphysical presence is represented by the horizonal axis depicting physical presence, and a vertical axis depicting our nonphysical presence.

Beginning with the vertical axis, Hagalaz, a Water element rune, focuses the energy of destruction in order to create anew. The witch rune, Hagalaz brings into focus the pattern of life, facilitates hedgeriding and shamanic passage, and provides protection. Ansuz, in the center, serves as significator for the runecasting as well as increases the creation energy invoked by Hagalaz. Ansuz invokes our divinity within as well as our magickal energy. An Air element rune, Ansuz increases our spiritual consciousness, and as the mind rune, positive communication as well. Another Air element rune finishes out the nonphysical axis of influence. Tiwaz, the spiritual warrior, strengthens our self discipline. Its message is one of high ideals, justice and order.

A powerful axis of nonphysical influence. I chose to participate in the Coven Conversations because it’s all about sharing “herstories” and how they can influence the return of the divine feminine, and our sacred balance in the world. And if tonight’s contributors are any indication, the next twelve conversations will be as magickal and transformative as Hagalaz, as spiritually conscious as Ansuz, and as powerful and victorious as Tiwaz. Thirteen in all, these conversations will transform our collective consciousness.

Raidho and Jera sit on either side of Ansuz on the horizontal axis representing physical influences. Raidho, another Air element rune, supports the justice and order of Tiwaz, and finding our true purpose in life. Travel, both conventional and astral, is also represented. It’s in the rhythmic motion of horse and rider, similar to The Chariot, that we learn when to take the lead and when to surrender. It’s a true expression of balanced sacred energy. Jera, the rune of transformation and balance, brings events to pass. An Earth element rune, Jera represents our unfolding spiritual awareness and our alignment in relationships.

So what we have then is a powerful focus of creative energy, building from each member of the group, experiencing the loving give and take that healthy sharing provides. We’re on a myriad of journeys..of self awareness..of ascension..of remembrance of our immanence with Source. Or maybe we simply seek an internal balance, a resonant self-respect, independent of the views of others. We seek a balance, one that was lost long ago, and we’re not going to allow anyone to stand in the way of that now. We’re past the tipping point and there’s no turning back now. The time of healing is upon us.
