Grand baby update…and a few other things

So, our third grandchild is here and we’re back and forth helping out so what I normally write will be on pause until next week sometime.

Everyone is exhausted and exhilarated…but we’re hanging in there…

I’ve been watching what’s going on politically and I have a few thoughts about a few things. Specifically, why can’t Rand leave Dr. Fauci alone? His BS is creating a dangerous situation and something needs to be done immediately to shut him up. And why again is Sinema a Senator?

Also…although I could be wrong about this…it appears that the insurrection investigation is yielding results in exactly the way AG Garland said it would when he spoke last about it. It reminds me of how DOJ deals with organized crime families. You don’t hear a thing until indictments/arrests are made and then, all of a sudden, the proverbial dam breaks open and there it is.

That’s how I’ve always viewed TFG, as a mob boss…or tool, or whatever. So it wouldn’t surprise me if that’s what we find out is happening. Start with the underlings and then move upward to the top. Get people to flip on the more central figures and scoop them all up.

I can’t fathom why anyone would have voted for TFG in the first place. I don’t buy that they at least couldn’t tell what kind of person he is, but then maybe what others have suggested is true: that he emulates the worst perceptions and behavior in people who appear to embrace the same, so he resonates with them in the worst sense. It’s like when your child spends time at a friend’s house and then brings back a bunch of new behavior that you know s/he didn’t learn at home.

But I don’t think that’s the whole story. I think some of this simply reflects the criminal nature of some of our politicians, either currently holding office, or working as operatives. They have a fascist sense about themselves and TFG paved the way for that to come out. And if they’re not stopped, this country, in my opinion, is in real trouble.

At least five members of SCOTUS are working against democracy and democratic values and principles. It’s ridiculous to think anyone would work against saving lives by refusing to wear a mask in a pandemic, but we had a year of so many endless lies that here we are. My son said that a nurse actually took off her mask to sneeze at the hospital where our grandson was born and then put it back on. A nurse. But here we are. And now SCOTUS thinks large businesses shouldn’t have a vaccine mandate. It’s fine for healthcare workers but not regular employees. The virus affects everyone. But apparently five members don’t see the connection between a pandemic and workers unable to work because they’re ill. Simple cause and effect, yet these five supposedly educated people are unable to understand the bigger picture. I guess employees are expendable in their eyes.

Oh, and if you have a chance to see the video of the Tonga underwater volcano erupting from space…it’s mesmerizing.

So, that’s it for now…talk again soon
