Below you’ll find the weekly information on the Cosmic Rays, The Ascendant, Nodes, and planetary aspects. The astrological chart for each day is cast for 8:00 am, with Portland, Oregon as the location.
Cosmic Ray Influences
The effect of the seven cosmic Rays essentially impacts the soul/ego balance at any given moment. As the Rays move through the universe and ultimately reach each individual, they color (or influence) our perceptions and behavior. If we perceive our experiences from a soul perspective, then our overall perspective resonates from a higher vibration; whereas, if we react from the standpoint of ego, our resonance becomes lower and more reactive. The specific Rays, along with their average strength this week, are as follows:
- 1st Ray – will/power; average strength: 5
- 2nd Ray – love/wisdom; average strength: 5
- 3rd Ray – active intelligence; average strength: 2
- 4th Ray – harmony through conflict; average strength: 14
- 5th Ray – concrete science and knowledge; average strength: 5
- 6th Ray – devotion and idealism; average strength: 3
- 7th Ray – ceremonial order and magick; average strength: 2
Strongest Rays
Over the course of the week, the strongest Ray influence continues to be the 4th Ray of harmony through conflict indicating that balance, problem-solving, and cooperation with others will improve. All other Rays have a reduced impact with the 1st (will/power), 2nd (love/wisdom), and 5th (concrete science and knowledge) next in strength and in balance with each other.
It’s possible that the lesser impact of the 1st Ray’s expression of will and power may be reinforced by the wisdom of the 2nd Ray and continue to make cooperation easier without the self-assertion that could spark conflict. And the 5th Ray in balance with the 1st and 2nd Rays suggests that collaboration with others will have the flexibility to investigate additional options or areas of interest.
Weakest Rays
The 6th Ray’s lesser influence suggests a reduced focus on expressions of ideology, while the reduced strength of the 3rd Ray of active intelligence suggests that objectivity that serves others may be less. Finally, we may have difficulty organizing our experiences in a meaningful, ordered manner with the reduced strength of the 7th Ray of ceremonial order and magic.
The Ascendant
Scorpio – A feminine sign that functions on the 4th Ray of harmony through conflict, a Scorpio individual is concerned with balanced expression. S/he is perceptive, focused, and independent, and at times possesses a strong will. A Scorpio individual can also be emotionally intense, secretive, and have health issues.
You have a powerful influence on others because of your they’re attracted to your warm and genuine nature. However, they are more apt to listen to your perspective if you express yourself in a less emotionally reactive manner. It may be that old wounds are surfacing and your emotions are telling you that it’s time to address those issues.
Node Influences ~ N Node: Taurus; S Node: Scorpio
A transformative combination that describes strong emotions that can lead to expressions of victimhood, and the need for a focus on a spiritual perspective that views the behavior of others as a window into one’s own issues. The challenge involves forgiving the self for judging others. With this placement, you also know what you value or desire, however, how difficult that is to achieve depends upon the balance you strike.
Rely on your emotional awareness to define your path; to be truly happy, your destiny must align with your feelings. You may need to develop a new perspective on the past that will help you let go of issues that should no longer impact your future plans. If relationships seem challenging or are impacting your choices, it may be that how you interact with others has changed and some reevaluation is needed. Perhaps a close partner sees something that you don’t. However, in the end, your feelings will ultimately tell you whether or not you’re going in a direction that will be truly satisfying.
Planetary Aspects
The Sun (12th/Scorpio) ~ You are both loving and idealistic and you enjoy spending time with others; however, some inner reflection can help you better understand your own need for intimacy, honesty, and trust. Others seek you out for advice because of your compassionate concern for their needs and issues, but there are moments when you’re less likely to truly listen to what they share. Toward the end of the week, you may experience difficulty with an authority figure, likely originating in childhood, which may hinder your self-confidence.
The Moon (various signs and houses) ~ Issues surrounding the women in your life may arise periodically this week that either offers an opportunity for grounding and support or leaves you feeling misunderstood. On the other hand, you’re also ready to share your insights with others who need compassion and a different perspective. Mid-week, your emotional balance may be off and you could be easily provoked or triggered into an angry response. You may experience changes in your personal life that could leave you feeling insecure and on shaky ground. Retreat to a protected space to regain your composure and balance.
Mercury (12th/Scorpio) ~ You search for the underlying truth of your experiences, but sometimes you have difficulty with your own perceptions, and interactions with others can be challenging. However, your instincts typically guide your perceptions and decisions. And you listen carefully and with compassion to the concerns of others while offering solutions based on reason and fairness.
Venus (12th/Scorpio, 1st/Scorpio) ~ Overall, your need for harmony helps you maintain a more realistic approach when choosing a life partner. But if your expectations become unrealistic, or you see only what you want to see, you may view yourself as a victim instead of understanding your own part in the situation. Your own need for freedom may be at odds with your desire for a more conventional life, but to realize that you may need to reconsider how you balance your expectations with your own desires.
Mars (Retro, 8th/Gemini) ~ With Mars entering retrograde on Sunday, it’s time to reassess your interactions with others. Is a focus on the self preventing you from relating to others in a satisfying manner? Normally, you collaborate well with others where you can express your ideas. But do you provide a safe space for others to express their own? During this time, focus your energy and intention on issues that provide inspiration to others, and remain open to reevaluating your own self-assertion.
Jupiter ~ (Retro, 5th/Pisces) Jupiter expands everything it touches and in retrograde, it expands your inner awareness. In sensitive Pisces, this applies to your emotions, self-assertion, and your imagination. With that influence along with the 5th House of creativity, children, and pleasure, you may be searching for a way to express your spiritual awareness more creatively. Lilith’s influence at the beginning of the week may impact your inner woundings with self-pity possible. But as the week progresses, you should have a better handle on emotional expression.
Saturn (3rd/Aquarius) ~ You continue to experience insecurity throughout the week, especially around authority figures who don’t appreciate or understand your contribution, and you may need a new approach to convey your unique and innovative ideas. Remember that not everyone processes information in the same manner. One person may prefer to listen and then talk about what you say, whereas, another might be more comfortable reviewing an outline or memo before asking questions. So, be aware of each person’s strengths and weaknesses and approach them accordingly.
Uranus ~ (Retro, 7th House/Taurus) A Taurus individual tends to focus on making their home a beautiful place to live and acquiring just the right possessions to make that happen. Uranus adds an unexpected or unique approach to that desire. And in the 7th House of partnerships, you may be less interested in relationships that are more conventional, instead preferring those that reflect a sense of individuality and freedom of expression. Aspects this week encourage you to listen more to your feelings and instincts as you offer support to others. And be aware of how your perceptions and choices impact your communication style.
Neptune ~ (Retro, 4th/Pisces) – You have a healthy imagination and strong visualization skills; however, instead of drifting off, you will benefit by remaining grounded in the present moment. That way you’re less likely to have unrealistic perceptions of your personal life that motivate you to retreat into fantasy and unhealthy boundaries.
Pluto (3rd/Capricorn) ~ Given your probing mind, interactions with others continue to be both intense and transformative with power struggles possible. However, your ability to analyze the underlying issues in your life can open the door to healing old wounds and improving interactions with others.
Chiron ~ (Retro, 5th/Aries) You may have felt violated at some point in your life which causes fear when asserting yourself. Reflection is necessary but it may also take some creativity to move past this difficult issue. And although it may feel uncomfortable, nurturing your own needs is just as important as those of others.
