Reading Notes:

Significator Runes: Gebo (7th rune, the gift, reciprocity, balanced energy exchange with others, marriage, partnership) and Puer (little boy energy, impulsivity, unstable, risk-oriented, aggressive).

Cards: 4 of Cups (4, Water, Minor Arcana), Queen of Cups (Water, Court), The World (card 21, Major Arcana). Note the run on Cups suggesting emotions are driving the issue today.

Overall numerology: 7+4+21=32=5 with one note that 7+4=11 which is the Master number for illumination and awakening which could be significant. Also, for the reading alone, the overall numerology would be 7 or observation, balance, letting things come to a rest to understand the overall picture. The 7 also is synchronous with Gebo’s placement in the Elder Futhark.

Beginning with today’s runes, Gebo suggests expressing balanced energy exchange or reciprocity with others and the expression of that higher awareness outward in all directions. Gebo is a high vibration rune that reflects alignment in spirit. On the below side of the equation, however, we have Puer which reflects a lack of impulse control. Its energy is unstable and self-oriented, and given to risk that is unacceptable. Together they may be suggesting that an interaction with someone else may have gone awry due to a lack of impulse control on your part and a rebalancing of perception and emotional awareness may be in order.

Moving onto the cards, we begin with the 4 of Cups. Here we see a man sitting with his arms and legs crossed with his back up against an oak tree. Three cups sit upright in front of him on the ground, with another coming from a hand reaching out from the clouds. He appears defensive and caught up in his own emotions and he can’t see what he has or what’s being offered.

Next, the Queen of Cups is sitting on a beautiful throne on the water’s edge. The pattern on her cape seems to almost merge with the rocks below. She holds a beautiful chalice in her hands which she gazes at reflectively. She’s a healer, empathic, an observer, loving, and patient. She may meddle a bit and be only so trustworthy, and have difficulty setting boundaries.

The Queen may be suggesting to the man in the 4 of Cups that instead of defensiveness, some reflection may be needed regarding the boundaries he sets and how he engages with others in a healthy manner. She may be suggesting that compassion for both self and others is necessary as is the ability to reflect on the overall picture. It’s possible that the man in the 4 of Cups could have interacted with others in a way that was offensive or intrusive, and now he needs to understand that so that he can interact in a more respectful manner.

Lastly, we come to The World, card 21 from the Major Arcana, a soul-archetype card that suggests completion, synthesis, and reward. As the last card of the Major Arcana, we come full circle with this card so that we can begin anew. We see a woman in the center of a never-ending garland with two lemniscates above and below signifying eternity or infinity. Four representations of the fixed signs of the zodiac appear in each corner suggesting the lessons that have been learned along the way. The World implies the end of one phase and the beginning or transition into something new, in this case, how your relationships with others may improve if you express Gebo in your life.

Summation

Essentially, invoking Gebo in your life allows you to let go of a lack of impulse control so that you can interact with others in a more balanced manner. There may be a situation that’s occurred where you might have disrespected boundaries and now some reflection is necessary instead of responding by becoming defensive and unwilling to see all sides of the situation or issue. And when you do that, in a sense, you complete one phase of your learning and move on to other things.
