From The Wild and Sacred Feminine Deck

Beginning with today’s significator runes, Tiwaz, the 17th rune from the Elder Futhark, has an eight numerology suggesting inner strength. Representing the Norse god Tyr, Tiwaz describes the spiritual warrior within, faith, ideals, oaths, and sacrifice. Drawing Tiwaz can indicate a legal issue or the need to speak one’s truth. Coupled with Amissio, the geomancy rune signifying a loss or decrease of some kind, today’s significator runes may be indicating letting go of fear so that you can stand up for yourself.

Looking at today’s cards, The 8 of Swords shows a woman bound, blindfolded, and wearing a red dress with one foot on the sand and one in the water. A castle is visible at the top of a cliff in the background. As with today’s rune Tiwaz, the card’s eight numerology describes strength, leadership, as well as material recognition and approval. Although the suit of Swords reflects the Air element, Earth, Fire, and Water are also present. The fact that the woman is bound and blindfolded suggests that she’s exercising her will to go within to find inner counsel regarding a decision she needs to make. Essentially, she’s turning off the influence of others as well as her own perceptions to seek a higher perspective. With one foot on the sand and one in the water, she’s balancing her emotions with being grounded.

Next, the Ace of Pentacles shows a hand reaching out from a darker cloud holding a large coin. Light emanates from the hand suggesting higher awareness is extending an offering of material security. Lilies line a pathway that leads under an archway created by a hedgerow on either side of the path. Mountains are visible in the distance. The card’s numerology of one describes new beginnings, leadership, and talent. The Ace of Pentacles suggests that after making the decision in the 8 of Swords, a new path has opened that, despite the challenges ahead, can lead her to additional material security.

Lastly, the 9 of Cups shows a man sitting on a bench in front of a wall draped in a blue cloth with nine golden cups arranged on the top. Although the man’s arms are crossed, this is not a defensive posture. Instead, he’s expressing his happiness and emotional fulfillment at his success. If we see this man as actually the woman from the 8 of Swords, the decision that she made did indeed not only bring material success but also emotional fulfillment.

SUMMATION

If you’re making a decision today, invoke your inner strength to go within to access higher awareness to help that process. Turn off the influence from others as well as your own perceptions and try to see the situation in a new light. Because if you let go of attitudes, beliefs, and perceptions that are holding you back, a new path could open that might bring you additional material success and security as well as emotional fulfillment.

Blessed Be
