The Preservation Of Wealth And Power Over A Secure Future For All ~ Tarot for 8 April 2017

The orange guy gave the order and tomahawk missiles rained down on what apparently was a largely abandoned airfield to the tune of $60 million of the taxpayer’s money. That’s what happens when notice is given to the other players in the game. Because that’s what all of this is, of course, one big game with stakes high enough that the world may look very different when they’ve all left the playing field.

We can be certain that nothing is as it seems, in need of clarity from the All-Seeing Eye above the collapsing tower.  The Tower card from the Major Arcana begins today’s Thoth tarot reading. I’ve been using a five-card spread of late, but after drawing three cards, I knew I was done.

Flying above the fray is the dove of peace while a coiled snake looks on at the destruction in progress. The All-Seeing Eye watches as geometric figures fall to either their death or their freedom, no longer imprisoned in the crumbling tower. A large orange mouth breathes forth fire, its mouth wide open with pointed teeth ready to reinforce the fire’s effect. The Tower is catalytic in nature but the rays extending from the All-Seeing Eye appear to encapsulate its destructive force allowing for eventual respite and renewal. The card’s numerology reduces to 7 or the number for both magick and divinity suggesting that a resonance is building toward a higher purpose.

The Princess of Disks looks down at the earth in meditative silence, barren trees behind her. She holds a round shield with a yin/yang symbol suggesting she invokes a balanced presence. She holds a spear in her right hand, light from its crystal tip radiating energy into the earth below. More traditional decks refer to her as a Page, indicating a young person, student, or messenger. But Crowley sees her with more reverence as spiritual and transformative. She is the earthiest part of Elemental Earth and we watch as the energy from her spear breathes new life into the earth, green emerging from the previously brown soil.

Aces are about beginnings. The Ace of Wands is catalytic and explosive, creativity energy bursting forth in all its fiery brilliance. Creativity in all forms is expressed by the Ace of Wands. It imbues passion into our efforts and promotes forward movement on all fronts. If action is required, solutions are available.

I’ve read that the orange guy owns stock in the company ¹ that makes the missiles he authorized giving him a nice profit from the missile attack.¹ Now that he’s created a fuss without actually preventing further chemical attacks it’s time to rebuild what’s been destroyed. And I’m not referring to the airfield in Syria. If this was a distraction to keep the investigation into his ties with Russia from proceeding, he’s mistaken. It will continue with new intent illustrated by the Ace of Wands.

I heard it was a one-time thing, but since he’s also stated that he loves war, who knows what’s going to happen next. But here’s the thing. Our legacy matters. Who we are matters. And how we treat others matters even more. And although Congress leaves much to be desired these days, he really should have informed them before acting. It’s how things are done. Instead, he surrounded himself with the Commerce and Treasury Secretaries, his son-in-law and others in a makeshift situation room at his Florida golf resort. At least a deputy national security advisor was present, his daughter’s dear friend and former aide to President Bush.

The overall numerology of the reading is 8 or material structure and strength. Extreme wealth can be its own prison preventing the individual from understanding and connecting to the rest of humanity. The Princess is reminding us that war exacts a cost and that our focus should be on building a secure future for all and not simply preserving wealth and power for a select few.

We’ll probably need a different president for that.
