Witch Notes: Never Bowing Down To Anyone Edition

I remember when Bush was in office and I spoke out about something he was doing with respect to the war in Iraq. A guy I knew winced during my comments and told me he hates it when people say anything negative about the president. I looked at him and promptly reminded him of the First Amendment along with the notion that out of disparate views, the truth often prevails. We have a right in this country to speak out when we have concerns or don’t like what our government is doing on our behalf. Eventually, the guy in question had to admit that I was right but he was a Bush supporter so it was what it was.

And now the current occupant of the White House wants all of us to treat him the way the North Korean people treat Kim Jong-Un. The fact that the North Korean people have no choice in the matter seems to escape this intellectually challenged man. He said later that he was joking, but we’ve seen him joke around before and this was different so I don’t believe him. The North Korean regime, irrespective of who is at the helm, is cruel and despotic. Donald was filmed saluting a military officer which North Korea is now taking full advantage of. Because he ignorantly met with Kim Jong-Un without anyone to transcribe the meeting the clueless fool left the United States vulnerable to whatever propaganda the North Korean regime wishes to release. It will be a case of he said/he said and given Donald’s track record of continual lies, it may give many pause when choosing whom to believe.

Yes. We’re at the point where we have to decide whether to believe a cruel and brutal dictator or a wannabe cruel and brutal dictator. Because that’s what we’ve got now.

As he expressed his wish that Americans would kiss his ass the way North Koreans do, he referred to us as “my people”. So let me explain something to our would-be Dear Leader:

Donald, this is the United States of America. We don’t bow down to anyone. We fought that war soon after we formed and our Constitution along with the Bill of Rights protect us from despots and dictators. It even protects us from someone like you. So, Americans suddenly giving up their dignity to kiss your ass isn’t going to happen any time soon. At least not with the more intelligent among us.

In other words: Blow Me.

We’re not “his people” and we never will be. That’s not how this works, Donald. No matter what you want.

Sadly, we’ll be revisiting this again…
