Although I’m still digging our from our recent snowpocalypse I had to take care of a few things anyway today such as paying bills and writing the monthly geomancy and tarot divinations which I must say was a nice departure from the snowy deluge. Evidently, Central Oregon’s winter is taking place over the course of a couple of weeks.

I will again use a weekly approach and begin in the upper right-hand corner. Puer begins the divination and I’ve added Graphiel as its intelligence as a guiding influence on the shield chart. The breakdown follows.

Shield Chart Breakdown

  1. Puer ~ young boy, impulsive action, Fire, Mars, Aries (week 1)
  2. Puella ~ young girl, flighty, somewhat fortunate, Air, Venus, Libra (week 1)
  3. Amissio ~ loss, Earth, Venus, Taurus (week 2)
  4. Fortuna Major ~ greater fortune, Fire, Sun, Leo (week 2)
  5. Cauda Draconis ~ endings, evil, South Node, Fire, Sagittarius (week 3)
  6. Laetitia ~ joy, gladness, Jupiter, Air, Taurus (week 3)
  7. Caput Draconis ~ beginnings, North Node, Earth, Capricorn (week 4)
  8. Puer ~ young boy, impulsive action, Fire, Mars, Aries (week 4)
  9. Conjunctio ~ joining, Air, Mercury, Virgo (week 1)
  10. Carcer ~ imprisonment, evil, Earth, Saturn, Aquarius (week 2)
  11. Conjunctio ~ joining, Air, Mercury, Virgo (week 3)
  12. Amissio ~ loss, Earth, Venus, Taurus (week 4)
  13. Via ~ way, path, journey, active presence, Moon, Water, Leo (right witness)
  14. Fortuna Minor ~ lesser fortune, Fire, Sun, Taurus (left witness)
  15. Fortuna Major ~ greater fortune, Fire, Sun, Leo (judge, outcome)

  • Elements ~ Fire (6), Air (4), Earth (4), Water (1)
  • Intelligence ~ Graphiel
  • End of the Matter ~ Fortuna Major

Week One

Puer and Puella join together with Conjunctio’s influence during the first week suggesting youthful energy is available during this time. As we guard against a lack of impulse control we may experience the genesis of something new for the month.

Week Two

Loss, success, and imprisonment are the keywords for week two. With any luck, any impulse control we may have lacked last week hasn’t contributed to any loss or imprisonment we might experience during this week. If we use Fortuna Major as the significator for the week, any loss experienced from Amissio’s influence may refer to removing any barriers to success. Carcer’s appearance may be suggesting that we not sell ourselves short or do anything that might keep us from success. In other words, avoid actions that imprison our efforts to succeed.

Week Three

Cauda Draconis, Tristitia, and Conjunctio comprise week three’s geomantic influences. Although Cauda Draconis is considered an evil influence, it also suggests endings, perhaps relating to the loss and imprisonment experienced in week two. Laetitia and Conjunctio refer to joy, happiness, and joining with others, and with their influence, this week may be filled with positive interactions and good fortune with others.

Week Four

We end the month with the influences of Caput Draconis, Puer, and Amissio suggesting more loss associated with a lack of impulse control, repeating an earlier theme from week one. Or is it? Caput Draconis refers to beginnings, so we can either interpret this as the beginning of more loss due to a lack of impulse control, or the end of it. Caput Draconis suggests more than simply the beginning of something because if often portends positive change. Perhaps we’ve realized how a lack of impulse control has affected our success or failure and are now willing to keep that impulse in check.

Overall Summary

The final three geomantic symbols (13, 14, and 15) provide the overall picture of the divination. An additional symbol to look at is found in section 4 of the shield chart which I’ll discuss at the end. Via, or way, path, and the journey, as the Right Witness, indicates past influences while Fortuna Minor (lesser fortune), as the Left Witness, indicates our future. In this case, Via is suggesting that our current path may not yield as much success as we might like (Fortuna Minor). However, with a change in focus, in this case, achieving better impulse control, we can create an even greater measure of success (Fortuna Major).

The end of the matter is represented by Fortuna Major in section four, reinforcing the outcome of the same in the Judge position. With the Fire Element and our will dominating the geomantic influences, if we pay attention to impulses which impede our success, March may begin a new chapter in our lives filled with personal growth and new opportunities.

Until next month…

Blessings to all!
