For the umpteenth time, Donald Trump has stated that after a baby is born, the doctor and the mother meet together to discuss the newborn’s execution. This bullshit began back when a Democrat was running for Governor who was a doctor who dealt with critical care situations in newborns. Or at least that’s when I think it began. For all I know, this is something Republicans have believed for who knows how long. From Aaron Rupar on Twitter:

Trump falsely claims Democrats support murdering babies.

“The baby is born, the mother meets w/the doctor. They take care of the baby. They wrap the baby beautifully. Then the doctor and mother determine whether or not they will execute the baby.”

It’s stunning, really, for a president to lie this way at rallies, stirring up the crowd to go after Democrats who allegedly kill their babies after they’re born. The nutter’s even suggested that moms take their aborted fetuses, born alive and healthy, and kill them when they get home. Where is his decency? Where is his heart? Where is the father in him?

Instead, he’s allowed to remain in office.

The above quotation illustrates that he’s very methodical in his description of how the deed is done. It’s nothing less than an assault on the psyche and emotions and I worry each time he does this that parents who have been devastated by the death of a child are hearing this disgusting and abusive lie. Because to endure such a loss is beyond any of us. And yet, parents faced with the worst moment of their lives, knowing that their child will not live, must make a decision that no parent should ever have to make. They do this with caring medical staff who take this responsibility seriously and with the utmost compassion, something Donald Trump simply doesn’t possess.

Years ago, I had a friend who was forced to make such a decision when her five-year-old son was struck by a car. His injuries were so extensive that it was determined he wouldn’t survive. She and her ex-husband made the only decision they could make, to let him go back to the Creator. She later told me that she had another choice to make at that time: to live, to die, or to go crazy. She told me that she looked at her other two children and knew she would live for them and for the beautiful boy they lost. But it was impossible most days. And without the compassion from the medical staff at the hospital that carried the family through this horrible moment, she thought she might have made a different decision.

Through tears, I told her I loved her and that I was glad she was still here. She eventually found a guy, a mutual friend, who was amazing and loved her and her children. They married, but there was a sadness to her, no matter how happy she appeared. I worry that she hears Donald’s words. And I hope she’s standing strong. Because the pain itself will never end.

I don’t know how Donald will be dispensed with, via impeachment or voted out of office. But I cannot imagine that he’ll be reelected. I simply cannot. Not after comments like this. But then I couldn’t believe he was elected in the first place. It’s likely that without Russia’s interference, he wouldn’t have been. To say this man is vile is an understatement. In fact, I don’t think words have been invented that can even begin to define Donald Trump. But at minimum, he lacks empathy and compassion to the level that results in these disgusting and devastating comments. And he must go.

For the Republican Party to support such a degenerate is telling us everything we need to know. They’ve lost their way, assuming they ever had one. None of them deserve the high honor of representing us. None of them. They need to be voted out. All of them. Our country cannot afford these people anymore. As for those people I know who voted for this cretin, I can’t even look at any of them now.

And as for Donald? My god, man. Just shut the hell up already.
