Some of us appear to spend an inordinate amount of time focused on the other as if our differences outweigh what we share. With recent comments by the racist in the White House once again shocking the senses, or at least those who still possess some, on this Maiden Moon’s night, I’m offering a bindrune that aligns and preserves our energetic connection and reminds us who we are to each other.

Jera, Othala, Ehwaz, and Thurisaz blend their energies together to illustrate our unified consciousness, the awareness of such made difficult by egos run-amok. It’s a grave distraction that we now experience as well as a grave injustice to all who came to our shores asking to be included, eager and ready to be Americans. And it doesn’t begin to explain the horror immigrants are experiencing now.

Until the next election, the average person may be powerless to stop what’s happening. If lawmakers cannot or will not act, then all we can do is raise the collective intention that the abuses end. We can take to the streets and express our activism at town halls and on social media. We can write and/or call our Congressmembers and demand that the abuses of immigrants cease and families are immediately reunited.

Or we can work some magick, in this case, rune magick.

Beginning at the top and moving deocil (clockwise) Jera reflects balanced energy exchange within and without. An as above so below rune, it’s easy to see how energy aligns Spirit with the physical form. An Earth element rune, Jera represents our unfolding awareness along with the cyclical nature of our lives.

Thurisaz breaks through conflict, protecting the vulnerable and extinguishing chaotic energy. Representing Elemental fire, Thurisaz is shaped like a thorn and depicts Thor’s hammer as it defends against opposition and fosters new beginnings.

A rune of Elemental Water, Ehwaz brings change and preserves the intuitive bond that we share with others. Representing the Merkaba, or the vehicle for soul journey, Ehwaz promotes partnership, integration, and a shared purpose.

Finally, Othala suggests legacy, ancestry, and our collective Akash. It’s said to combine all runic energies together in purposeful exchange. Both Inguz and Gebo are visible, the sudden expansion of energy integrated in balanced energy exchange with others. As the rune of sacred space, Othala represents the collective consciousness, our unified expression as the Creator in form. It protects and balances, fosters loyalty, and establishes traditions.

I make this bindrune available to anyone who wishes to proclaim this vital truth: We are one in the Creator, and each one of us is loved, valued, and necessary. It may be drawn and cast as a personal expression, knowing that a bindrune created by a witch is a powerful gift, its strength found in its intention and the love with which it was made.

So as you align with tonight’s Maiden Moon, whether using this bindrune or not, cast your blessings to those who remain in cages, in fear, and who do not understand why this shining city on a hill would imprison them for wanting to give their children a better life.

Blessed Be
