Spread the love

winter solstice reading

Winter Solstice is upon us. A New Moon brings us potential for the coming month. Both are a time for reflection and represent the Crone phase of life. We reflect on all that’s been learned, discerning what’s necessary and what’s not going forward, and what aligns us with Source and what does not.

Divination is about potentials. Nothing is carved in stone, yet spreads can give us insights into situations or issues we’re currently experiencing, as well as alerting us to perspectives unconsidered and as yet embraced. A derivation on the past/present/future spread, the landscape spread, simple in nature, uses three cards to suggest potential factors for our consideration.

The Elemental energies of Water and Fire are included in this casting. No Major Arcana cards are represented this time. Two Court cards are represented (Page of Wands and King of Wands) along with the most beautiful Ace of Cups card I’ve ever seen. I’m using the Witches Tarot deck by Ellen Dugan which is so wonderful.

We begin with the blessing of the Goddess represented by the Ace of Cups. An Elemental Water suit, Cups deal with our emotions, creativity and psychic power.  In the Ace of Cups, Goddess promises blessings of love, inspiration and positive relationships surrounding us.

The suit of Wands represents Elemental Fire. Fire propels us onward, offering us the power to have the courage of our convictions. It represents our resolve, our determination. The Page of Wands also represents Earth Elemental energies as its vibrational correspondence, reminding us to stay grounded, and indicating news from a young person may be coming, or perhaps a new opportunity is ahead.

Another Fire Element card, the King of Wands, brings motivation and enthusiasm to our life. He strengthens the energy from the young Page, furthering along opportunities and projects at hand from a mentoring stance.

For the witch, Elemental Water represents To Dare, one of the four pillars of the Witch’s Temple. Elemental Water energy centers around our emotions, heart and facing our fears. Elemental Fire represents To Will, offering discipline and skill to the process. The landscape over the next month appears positive, full of potential opportunity and joy. From Goddess blessings to the wisdom of the wise King, we will meet the challenges of new experiences with enthusiasm and joy as we as we dare to realize that all fear is an illusion, and as we remain in alignment, in resonance with Source, with the strength of our Divine Will, we extend love and blessings to all.

~ Blessed Be the Winter Solstice!
