As I was drawing this week’s runes from the rune bag, I noticed a theme was emerging which addresses not only our collective alignment on a new path forward, but specifically how we respond to the virus as it explodes around the country. For anyone who still believes COVID-19 is a hoax, you’re simply wrong. People are getting sick, really sick, and as of this morning’s information from the World Health Organization, 10,641,431 people in the United States have contracted the disease while 242,542 of us have died. And that’s a loss too great and unacceptable by any standard.

At minimum, a change in perception is required now so that as many of us as possible survive this virus. I read yesterday that 40% of the people in these United States have indicated that they still intend to gather together with family and friends over the holidays with 30% saying they’ll do so sans masks. Again, an unacceptable choice when a virus of pandemic proportions is increasing around the country.

As we know if we’re paying attention at all, COVID-19 cases spike up whenever people gather together, whether at superspreader events or in family gatherings. We typically don’t know when we contract the virus and between the time when that happens and when we experience symptoms, days can go by where we can shed the virus on anyone we’re around if we’re not wearing a mask. Face shields alone, and I say this every time I do a video about anything at all, are not sufficient to prevent the spread of the virus. That happens only by wearing a mask.

Othala, in the bottom right hand corner of the picture above, really provides the entire basis for the bindrune as it contains both Inguz (upper half) and Gebo (lower half) within its structure. From there, adding a line on either side of Gebo adds the energy of Dagaz to the bindrune.

An Earth element rune, Othala describes tradition, ancestral heritage, sacred space, protection, and prosperity. It represents peace and security established from shared values along with loyalty to a sense of shared purpose, all of which appears threatened now by a massive lie told to the American people about a virus that will either make us sick or end our lives. And because of that lie, our traditions, our unity, and our sacred space continue to be threatened.

Inguz, at the top of Othala, describes the seed within and the sudden burst of energy toward incarnation and growth. We’ve forgotten who we are to each other and the presence of Inguz reminds us of that simple truth. There is no time to waste because the damage brought about from that confusion is costing people not only their health but for some, their very lives. And sooner than later, that truth needs to matter.

Balanced energy exchange with others implies just that: we engage with others in a balanced manner. And in the case of the virus, it involves doing whatever we can to preserve each other’s right to survive. Gebo, the lower half of Othala, binds us together in that balance protecting and preserving the trust we have in others to have our back, instead of what we’re experiencing now.

Finally, Dagaz incorporates Gebo’s balanced energy exchange with the concept of standing on the precipice of something new. It represents the end of one phase and the beginning of another, with the choice of how that unfolds up to each one of us. Will we align together in shared purpose during one of the most difficult times we’ve experienced or will we move forward solely in service to self, disregarding the facts and the truth about a virus that we don’t yet know everything about?

Even when people survive the virus, some still experience health problems from the damage it causes. Had we all hunkered down in the beginning, wearing a mask if out and about, we could have shut the virus down by giving it no place to go. Instead, we have a liar in the White House who couldn’t care less who lives or who dies even after supposedly contracting the virus himself.

Friends, we have over two months before a new president is inaugurated. He will have his hands full trying to clean up the mess the current fool has left. And if those people who deny what’s going on don’t get it together now and do whatever is necessary to stop the virus from spreading, the grief alone will be too much for any of us to bear.

Never mind the economy. Our collective family will be in too much pain from all the lives lost to even focus on that. Our health care system will either collapse or be seriously impacted simply by the number of people needing care. We’ve already heard the truth from hospital staff and witnessed what they’ve had to cope with while the liar in the White House tasked his son-in-law with dispensing PPE supplies that never arrived. So we all know what’s coming if a change in perception doesn’t happen immediately.

I offer this bindrune as a focus for personal use, to carry with you as a reminder of what is at stake. As you draw it out for yourself, focus on its purpose. Hold the finished bindrune in your hands as you bless and consecrate it in the name of all those blessed souls we’ve lost.

Who we are to one another and how we come together matters. It’s the only thing we have now to survive this horrible virus, now that our current president turned his back to our very survival.

Blessings to our One Family. Know that we are stronger together than we will ever be apart!
