The Wildwood Tarot deck changes the names of the suits as well as the Court and the Major Arcana cards. Arrows represents Swords and therefore involves Elemental Air and our intellect, reason, decisions, etc. Whereas the 9 of Swords in traditional decks illustrates an individual awakening from a nightmare, in this card, the deck’s authors title this card, Dedication, which illustrates a woman holding a bow with arrows flying away from her.

The authors envision this card in a dramatically different manner, suggesting that the woman is actually playing the bow like a violin, with so much dedication that she’s immune to the chaos around her. This card speaks to the necessity of a sacred and self-disciplined path that leads one to a higher truth.

It’s up to each individual to wisely and diligently choose the path that best serves more than just the self, reflecting Spirit in all that we pursue.

One Last Reminder About RePosting of My Work

If anyone intends to either quote something I've written, or intends to post any part of my work, including my videos, on any other site, please ask permission before doing so. Any reposting of my work without permission can be considered as copyright infringement, so please ask. And if I give permission, you MUST clearly reference my name as author and my website. No exceptions. The words an author writes are sacred. Unapproved use is not.

Thank you... Jan Erickson
