The Knight of Pentacles sits atop a hill on his black horse in full battle attire under a golden sky. His visor is up, however, suggesting he’s there to protect instead of engaging in battle. He holds out a large coin (pentacle), a gesture of offering to the village below.

Upright, the Knight is there to protect and serve the people in a manner that values and preserves their shared traditions. His knowledge and experience will guide his decisions. Reversed, however, he’s there to protect himself and his own agenda.

A card of Elemental Earth, when the Knight of Pentacles appears in a reading, it reminds you to express yourself to others as someone who is trustworthy, dependable, and reliable, as well as a person with self-discipline and a measured, practical approach. Be a warrior in your life and the lives of others, and assist others where needed.
