Runecasting: Higher Self Influences

I like a nice pattern to develop when laying out runes I’ve drawn. I begin with a significator and then interpret the influences Runecastingsurrounding that rune. In this runecasting, Hagalaz, the rune of destruction and transformation, is significator, influenced by Eihwaz, Ingwaz and Wunjo positioned above.

Hagalaz, a Water Element rune, suggests a protective influence. Also a witch rune, Hagalaz facilitates hedgeriding and shamanic journeying. Destruction before transformation, Hagalaz explodes into awareness like a hail storm suddenly followed by quiet presence.

Position matters in a spread, whether in tarot or runes. It can indicate order, cause and effect, or an integrative influence. When the runes are positioned above the significator, they indicate Higher Self influences. If placed below, the influences are more earthly in nature. Either way, influences supporting alignment are considered in this runecasting.

Beginning on the left, Eihwaz is the link between worlds, the perfect rune of alignment as it strengthens our inner will. Viewed by some runemasters an a rune of Elemental Air, and of Fire by others, I see it as both, Air breathing life into Fire as it moves energy from one state to another. Eihwaz is our alignment between physical and nonphysical aspects of self.

The first of two runes of Elemental Earth, Ingwaz, represents the sudden release of energy into form. As the seed, Ingwaz is our focus, our center, our desire become manifest, promising a positive outcome. Ingwaz represents our genetic inheritance, in this case, our Akash.

Wunjo signifies happiness and success, strengthened further by its final position in the runecasting. It represents harmony and empathy, along with sensuality and seduction. On its own, Wunjo is a powerful wish rune.

Higher Self is telling us that staying focused within our creative expression results in alignment and joy. Our creativity flows in nonresistance, making alignment effortless. The destruction of resistance-based behavior initiated by Hagalaz transforms our focus into one of alignment. The calm after the storm. Eihwaz and Ingwaz reinforce our unlimited creative potential, with Wunjo strengthening that potential. Influences from Higher Self, need only be felt to understand the power of that resonance.

~Blessed be the runes!
