Looking at this tarot reading, beginnings seem to be in store. Coming off the the Full Strawberry Moon as well as the Summer Solstice, new beginnings are definitely in order. I drew three cards last night, Death, The High Priestess, and the King of Cups. My notes from that include:

Full Moon reading..Death, The High Priestess, and the King of Cups..allow change, emotional transformation, let go of what no longer serves, follow intuition and feeling over intellect to achieve clarity, embrace creative discipline, feel the strength of alignment with Self..if focusing on the King, then it could indicate some transformation with his emotional presence is at hand for that individual. Perhaps he’s ready to move past passive/aggressive behavior to a more calm, centered existence.

General influences however involve change for the better, and with this Full Moon also at the Summer Solstice, energies support such change. Our answers are found within, as the High Priestess suggests. We need do nothing but align and then know.

So we see change and transformation from the night of the Full Moon give way to new beginnings today. Drawing four cards for this reading I decided to place them in the four quarters symbolizing the four elemental directions and look at the cards from that perspective. Each suit is represented in the spread. In the position of Elemental Earth (North) sits the Ten of Cups. Moving deocil, the Ace of Pentacles is in the position of Elemental Water (West), the Ace of Swords at Elemental Fire (South), and the Nine of Wands at Elemental Air (East).

The numerological correspondences are interesting. Two Aces, each with the value of one. The 10 and the 9 add up to 19. From there, we add 1 to 9 and arrive at 10. Add 1 to zero and we get one. Now, we can either look at the numerological value of the spread as one, or new beginnings, or we can add the three ones together and get 3 or catalytic energy, Triple Goddess, and creativity. But I’m thinking I should include both new beginnings and the catalytic energy to create in the interpretation, because one naturally follows the other.

Elemental influences include our intellectual presence with Air, catalytic presence with Fire, emotional presence with Water, and our physical presence with Earth. With our intellectual presence, we convey our truth; with our catalytic presence, our authentic self. Our emotional identity is felt with our emotional presence, and we define our boundaries with our physical presence. In this reading, I’ll look at each card as it relates to its elemental position.

The 10 of Cups suggests contentment, that we need do nothing for joy and peace surround us. The ten itself can indicate both culmination or completion as well as new beginnings. It suggests desired outcomes and success. A family sits together, happy and satiated, in joy and unity. A rainbow is in the background, the promise of fulfillment evident. A Water element card, in the position of Earth, it suggests our emotional presence is grounded by family. A sense of commitment comes through as the family shares the day’s experiences, happy to be together.

Emotional presence blends with Earth element influences as the Ace of Pentacles is positioned in the Western quarter of Elemental Water. It’s interesting that this is opposite of the 10 of Cups in the position of Earth. But instead of grounding our emotional presence, with this card in this position, our feet are already firmly on the ground. We begin in security and stability as something new begins to manifest. The potential for something wonderful to unfold is present as we eagerly move forward. Material gain of some kind, possibly a career change, may be coming. If concerning relationships, the Ace of Pentacles, particularly in the position of Elemental Water may indicate a well-grounded and loving relationship exists or is unfolding.

Catalytic presence blends with intellectual influences with the Ace of Swords in the position of Elemental Fire. Clarity and understanding are present with this card. Ideas are forming, an actively invoked force inspiring us. This is our intellectual presence at its best. We see things as they are and our way forward is clear.

In the position Air, our intellectual presence, the 9 of Wands combines intellect with integrity as we stand in our own power. Strength and determination keeps us alert should obstacles befall us on our journey. We push on with the discipline necessary to fulfill our goals. The warrior stands alert, looking out over the battlefield. He’s wounded, but he’s not done. He won’t allow his wounds to prevent his success. He is well-prepared to meet any challenge that arises.

Well now. We began on the Full Moon with new beginnings and here we see the way forward. We remain steadfast, irrespective of the challenges that may lay before us, knowing that we have the ability to accomplish anything we choose. We draw from inspiration both catalytic and grounded in our intellectual presence and in the security found in commitment to family. The future promises potential material gain and fulfillment.

The Summer Solstice was special because it fell on the same day as the Full Moon, something that hasn’t happened in a long time. The energy from such an event can propel us forward. The time is now to try something new, trusting in a positive outcome.

Blessed Be
